Chapter 26: The food is getting cold….

The video started on with an aerial view of the area where they started the mission, it had bold letters on the image superposed that read [The Fight for the Truth], and below those letters a smaller ones in italics that read [Directed by The Theater Master], [Sound by The Theater Master], [Image by Aqua].The voice of Aqua sounded as the image zoomed into the building that Alexa had walked into.

The video panned away from the building and focused first on the black-masked minions,

At that the minions around raised their drinks and cheered, the video slowly panned away and focused to the white masks next.

Aqua's recording said next, first focusing on some white masks that Ale hadn't met before.

So she mostly ignored them, the image focused on some other minions, the minions around her cheered with each mention. Ale noticed how besides the image they had their Minion name written around.

"Oh, that's me!" [Fan Girl] said, making Ale focus on the image next, and sure enough, there was the image of [Fan Girl] standing alone without anyone near her.

Sylph did a small twirl and shot straight up into the skies.

Soon enough, her image wasn't visible anymore.

The voice of Aqua said,

The image panned away from the group of minions into the farther reaches of their allotted area, there stood a big humanoid form made up of rocks, concrete, steel pillars and other alloys.

The voice of Aqua continued on as the image of [Golem] moved on, the vehicles and buildings shook as he moved,

The video showed him raising his fist and letting it crash down upon some random vehicle on the street, it slowly raised his fist and behind only remained a crushed vehicle. Ale for some reason felt as if the vehicle should explode or something, but alas. Nothing happened, that was bad cinematic effects, it would look more cool if they exploded.

Ale didn't think there would be a day where she would share opinion with Alexa, which meant that this train of thought wasn't the correct one.

Aqua said on the video, making some minions giggle and turn to look to Ale's group.

"So…you cried huh," [Fan Girl] joined he whispers turning to look towards [Golem].

"The mission required me to destroy some public properties and act as a mindless machine of destruction; I was not aware they would try to get this approach," [Golem] said shaking his head, "Had I known this, I would have added a water pump to make fake tears or something to that effect."

"...You are not fun," [Fan Girl] said turning to Ale, "He isn't fun right?"

"Not fun," Ale said nodding her head, not sure why, but the social aspect seemed to indicate her to nod, and sure enough [Fan Girl] smiled and gave her a small hug.

Even if that, one again, meant going into accord with what Alexa wanted, such a weird feeling.

The image shifted towards Ale leaving the bank with the data she had been asked to collect.

And then to the point where she found V-8.

Would they show…

The video paused one frame each time, showing how V-8 was kicking minions into the walls.

The video then slowed down to a crawl, it was as if it only showed certain frames, it was as if she was seeing V-8 slowly teleport towards her, the slide-show stopped when V-8 was standing right in front of her.

Then the next image on the slide-show was shown, there stood Ale with her leg raised on the air and a single drop of blood falling from there.

Had she been hurt? Well, obviously she had been hurt, it hurt like hell actually. But she didn't remember bleeding.

The image showed her speaking with the high-ranking minion from the theater crew,

"Rhapsody? You were hurt? Why didn't you report it?" [Fan Girl] said turning to her, and while Ale couldn't see the older girl's face, she knew that she was giving her the stinky eye.

"I hurt my leg with the movement burst, but it was healed by the moment my feet touched the floor again," Ale said with a shrug, "I didn't know that I had bleeding, Main Core may have slacked off there,"

"Main Core thinks they edited it to make it more dramatic," Ale said reporting the findings of Main Core.

"It is possible, but that is a dangerous thing to do. Perhaps they can get away since you were actually hurt, so it lands on the gray area. If someone ask you don't elaborate on the fact that you had healed yourself." [Golem] said from the side while turning his stare towards the theater guy who was now sitting beside [Vulcanus].

Aqua's voice sounded as a small screen manifested on the side, a video that Ale had seen before. Her fight against [Chrysalis],

At that, some of the minions turned to stare at her.

"That motherfu-" [Fan Girl] cursed under her breath.

"Do you want us to raise a complaint? It is usually frowned upon for someone to expose your Core powers like this," [Golem] said from the side, it was obvious that he also didn't like the fact that Ale's power was exposed like that.

Even if his own power was obvious for everyone who saw it.

"I don't mind it," Ale said with a shrug, "Even if people know I can shapeshift, they will not be able to do anything worth with that information."

And most important of all, that wasn't her real power, so really, it was a moot point at this point.

The video shifted away and focused on the middle of a street farther away, where a man suddenly got enshrouded in darkness as people turned to look on their direction, the camera focused on several types of reactions.

First was the people that stood there staring as if they didn't know how to react, Ale graded those as easy meals, if just a little of surprise was all it took, she could probably eat a few of them before they understood what was happening.

The second group was that of people who straight-up screamed and ran away as far as possible; Ale graded those as smart. She would probably need to go for the runners first, lest they invite danger back to her if she ever went on a rampage.

The third group, however, was one that Ale didn't understand what they attempted to do.

"It's futile," [Fan Girl] said from the side, "As soon as picked him, he was dead."

"Even so, the effort they made is commendable." [Golem] said from the side.

"Can it be stopped? Whatever that is." Ale asked as the video showed people attempting to remove the shadows that covered the man that was the focus of the video. Some tried to pull at the darkness away from the man while he seemed to to the same, others threw water at him as if the darkness was a fire.

That, while granted, the black smoke that came from him seemed to imply it was indeed something akin to fire, at least visually. And at the very end one of the ones around pulled out a [Gun] and started discharging it at the man on the center of that.

It didn't work, and soon enough they got proof of that.

The video showed how as if their strings had been cut all the people around the man clad in darkness started falling to the ground, the darkness coalesced into a black robe, and soon Ale could see once more the man who she had seen fighting against the theater guy.

What came next was an odd silence as everyone around stood quiet as the image showed the scrambled guy walking across the city, people falling to the ground everywhere he went. And that was where Ale noted something...odd.

People before falling opened their mouths and then fell; it was at that point that she voiced her doubts, "It's muted? Why don't they show the audio?" Ale asked.

"Because of the Cognito hazard, some people are more susceptible to it than others and we don't know the exact means or Core Power that uses to affect others." [Fan Girl] said while she held her right hand using the left, it seemed as if she was holding herself down.

Aqua said on the video as the image changed to minions helping the civilians run away, each minion stood roughly 10 meters away from each other as if making a line.

All guiding people away from the place that the scrambled guy walked, Ale noticed how the video seemed to shake now and then, "It's okay Sylph. He can't get you here," [Golem] said suddenly.

That made Ale turn to look to the side and there [Fan Girl]'s shoulders seemed to tremble here and there, up and down, she couldn't hear anything, but she knew the mask had a system that isolated the sounds that one made, so perhaps [Fan Girl] had used them?

Ale wasn't that sure about why Alexandra was asking her that, but nonetheless, Ale did as instructed. [Fan Girl] seemed to be surprised by this, but an incoming call came into her interface, one that Main Core accepted since it had come from [Fan Girl].

The trembling voice of [Fan Girl] said as the other girl hugged her back.

Ale wasn't sure what she was being thanked for, but stayed as such for now. Instead she focused her attention back to the video at the front, there the image showed something that was...worrying.

She could see from the airview where the scrambled guy was walking to, and if she was reading the city's layout right. The scrambled guy was walking straight to her.

Aqua's voice said as the video shifted to the image of the theater guy, the production value of that scene obviously more detailed with better quality and more effects.

The video then showed the theater guy listening in to a call to his cellphone, and immediately afterward, he started running; it was weird seeing him on the screen since, unlike how Ale viewed him on the image, he wasn't glitching in an out as multiple images of himself screamed on wanted to fight to stand at the barefront.

Aqua's voice explained as the theater guy suddenly jumped and ran across the walls of nearby buildings, and in some instances, he even seemed to walk on the air.

The video showed him rushing and and finally arriving in front of the scrambled guy, they semed to speak for a few seconds as both stood in front of the other, and while that was interesting, it didn't last.

After a few seconds of staring, both started fighting it out.

That was interesting, since when Ale arrived they had been mostly talking, the image weirdly enough cropped out the building in which Ale had seen this and instead seemed to focus more on the other side of the street.

The fight...wasn't that interesting to be honest, the theather guy seemed to fight by summoning weird things to throw at the scrambled guy, from anvils to pianos and occasionally one car or two, on the other hand. The scrambled guy seemed to throw weird eldritch creatures made of the dark substance that his robe was made out.

Aqua's voice said as the image of Alexanders showed up on screen, pizza included.

Ale couldn't wait for this to finish, she wanted to eat already....The food was getting cold, and [Fan Girl] was not calming down either.
