Assassin at Range: The Sniper's Lethal Power

Chapter 109 109: Tide Giant Bloodline Factor

Chapter 109 109: Tide Giant Bloodline Factor

After equipping the two new weapons, Tristan couldn't help but feel a deep sense of gratitude toward Deathbringer Bonecrusher Gada. If it weren't for the Proof of the Overlord, which reduced the equipment requirement by ten levels, he would have had to stare at the Tidebreaker Dagger with regret.

Thinking of this, Tristan couldn't help but feel a tinge of regret. The Tide Giant didn't perform a death sacrifice, which meant it couldn't immediately ascend to the Epic grade. That was a small disappointment. However, Tristan did know the reason behind this.

It all came down to faith. The Sea Tribe, unlike the Goblins, had a clear belief system—they worshipped the Sea God. Even if they wanted to perform a death sacrifice, it would have been directed toward seeking the Sea God's power.

To take it further, even if a Sea Tribe member had performed the sacrifice, it was uncertain whether Deathbringer would even appear. After all, when gods of the same rank compete for power on another god's domain, it's a grave taboo.

The most important reason was that the Sea God hadn't fallen yet. If a fight did break out, even if Deathbringer won, it would still be embarrassing. So, Deathbringer just ignored the Sea Tribe, letting them be.

On the other hand, the Goblins were not as particular. Without any gods to worship, they often turned to Deathbringer for power.

Tristan collected his thoughts and continued inspecting the loot.

He found a skill book.

[Roaring Water Dragon Ball (Dark Gold Grade)]

Type: Active skill

Effect: Summon water elements to strike a targeted area, dealing (magic damage * 200% + 1000) damage. Consumes 200 mana. Cooldown: 30 seconds.

Only usable by Water Mages.

Special Ability: Constrain: Enemies hit are immobilized for 5 seconds.

Seeing the skill book, Tristan was thrilled, but a part of him knew he most likely wouldn't be able to use it. While the Tide Giant looked like a bulky melee fighter, it was actually a hybrid class that excelled in both physical combat and water magic. This was true for all members of the Sea Tribe—they possessed powerful physiques while also mastering water magic, making them formidable opponents.

"This skill is strong, but unfortunately it's limited to Water Mages," Tristan muttered. "I doubt I'll be able to sell it for a good price."

With all six items examined, Tristan was quite satisfied. Even though he could only make use of two of them, they still provided improvements. Plus, he had locked in a potential mechanical engineer in GemmaS, which was a huge win.

"Once the shop opens tomorrow and I finish the Guild Token auction, I can start taking the next steps," he thought.

Just then, he heard NightStalker's voice: "The Sea Monster is retreating. Are you heading back to Davi City?"

Looking over, Tristan saw that GemmaS had recovered from her shock and was already planning how to gather enough materials to craft the Destroyer. NightStalker stood beside her, her armor still gleaming, not a trace of dirt on it.

It was worth noting that standing next to GemmaS, NightStalker's appearance outshone her completely. Tristan remembered that GemmaS had toned down her appearance settings in the game, but in reality, she was a top-tier beauty. Still, she couldn't match NightStalker.

GemmaS noticed this too and reached over to pinch NightStalker's cheek, exclaiming, "Looking like that, do you leave any chances for us girls?"

NightStalker shrugged, "I can't help how I turned out."

GemmaS was speechless. What could she say? It was futile.

Fortunately, GemmaS quickly regained her playful attitude and turned to Tristan, saying, "I'm going to gather materials. Don't forget to call me when your guild is up."

With that, she dashed off.

Tristan shook his head helplessly and turned to NightStalker, saying, "I'm heading to Sonar City to see if the Tide Giant's head triggers any quests. I'll come back to Davi City after."

NightStalker nodded, "I'll wait for you in Sonar City. I'm done with my advancement task, so there's no rush."

Tristan agreed, "It won't take long. After triggering the quest, we'll head back to Davi City. By the way, my shop opens tomorrow. If you're free, come show your support."

NightStalker grinned, "Of course, I'll be there."

The two of them made their way toward Sonar City, and halfway there, Tristan received a message from Drake: "Haha, I've got good news! I've killed DarkSaber like seven or eight times, and he's practically lost his pants!"
