Assassin at Range: The Sniper's Lethal Power

Chapter 44 44: Departure

Chapter 44 44: Departure

Before going to find Giruva, Tristan suddenly remembered something and turned around, heading toward the abandoned house with the teleportation circle.

The former village chief was dead, and the villagers who had been turned into ghosts by him must have been freed and ascended by now.

When Tristan arrived at the abandoned house, he saw a few players approaching in a cautious manner, clearly wary.

"The monsters here are tough, guys, be careful."

"Last time I wasn't prepared enough, that's why it ended so quickly."

"By the way, the former village chief got taken out. If we kill this ghost, who are we supposed to turn the quest into?"

"Well, the new village chief, obviously. We're all from the same village, and if we take down the ghost, I'm sure the new chief will be grateful."

"That makes sense."

"Do you think it's possible that this ghost is connected to the new village chief? We could take the ghost's head back and expose the truth, like Blackshade did."@@@@

"Genious, you've spotted the flaw!"

As they were discussing this, a voice came from beside them.

"You don't need to worry about that; the ghost is gone."

One of the players, looking annoyed, turned around and snapped, "Who the hell are you? You trying to..."

Before he could finish, his expression froze.

The rest of the group, noticing the change, turned and immediately froze as well.

It was Blackshade!

The player who had spoken earlier began trembling, stammering, "B-B-Blackshade, don't misunderstand, I wasn't cursing you!"

The others quickly stepped aside, clearly trying to avoid any unpleasant consequences.

Tristan waved his hand nonchalantly. "It's fine, I don't mean anything bad. Just letting you know the ghost is gone."

A player beside him asked curiously, "But how can that be? No other players have come through, the ghost should still be here."

Tristan didn't bother to explain, stepping forward toward the door.

The team leader quickly shouted, "Blackshade, be careful! That ghost has high attack power!"

Creak.

The old wooden door slowly opened. The players braced themselves, expecting an attack.

But nothing happened.

Looking through the crack in the door, they could see the inside was rundown, with no ghost in sight.

It was unfortunate that his eventual fate had been grim, dying during the chaos of the dark turmoil.

After a brief silence, Tristan spoke up. "Giruva, I've come to ask you for a favor."

Giruva put the comb away and looked at Tristan seriously. "What is it, hero? How can I assist you?"

Tristan explained, "I want to activate the teleportation circle to Davi City."

There were many novice villages and major cities to choose from, with twelve major cities available for players from Valoria alone.

Each major city had the same NPCs, allowing for profession advancements.

Tristan's reason for choosing Davi City was the letter from Cole Hunter.

He was very interested in the random ranged skill book.

If it was a universal skill, even better.

And even if it was limited to the archer class, he could always sell or trade it for another skill book of equal level, so it would be useful either way.

Giruva smiled warmly. "Hero, you've come at just the right time. The teleportation circle was repaired just a few days ago, and you'll be the first to use it."

He gestured for Tristan to follow him.

The teleportation circle was located at the center of the village and was guarded by several militia members.

When they saw Giruva approaching, they all greeted him respectfully. "Greetings, Village Chief."

Giruva turned to Tristan and asked, "Hero, do you know how to use the teleportation circle?"

Tristan nodded. "I understand."

He stepped up to the center of the teleportation circle, and the system prompted:

Ding, please choose your destination city.

"New Lands City, Border City, Sonar City... Davi City."

"Davi City."

Are you sure? The first teleportation is free, subsequent uses will incur a fee based on the distance.

"Confirm."

Teleportation in progress.

The magical formation beneath his feet began to glow, gradually enveloping Tristan in light.

When the light dissipated, Tristan had disappeared from the spot.

Giruva watched the empty teleportation circle and silently prayed, "Brave traveler, may the blessing of the God of Wado guide and protect you."
