Chapter 22: A Certain Play

Binaeril understood the deep bond between the two, which was rooted in a sense of debt, guilt, or responsibility.

Rike likely believed that Sylvia’s brother died because of her, and Sylvia, equally guilt-ridden, felt she must atone for her brother’s mistake by protecting Rike. It was a sad story, but there was nothing Binaeril could do for them. Such old feelings from the past were issues they needed to resolve themselves.

However, Binaeril knew a way to address the current situation.

“Sylvia, you said you owe a debt to Rike.”@@@@

“So, you’ll do anything to clear the misunderstandings she’s facing, right?”

“You’re really going to do that? Do you think it will work?”

“We have to try. We can’t expect the timid princess to solve this on her own. She’ll just worry. Will you do it?”

Sylvia’s hesitation was brief. She was always ready to stand up for her lord.

“Of course.”

Back in the training room, the Dean and the imperial princess were in a somber mood.

“They’re both concerned for you,” said the Dean.
