Chapter 180 Relic conundrum Part 1

Chapter 180 Relic conundrum Part 1

After the wonderful weekend with his friends, Uriel was feeling refreshed. Spending time with his friends did wonders to ease all of his worries and he felt life couldn't get any better. That was, at least, until Nika volunteered to take him to college in her brand new bike.

"How did you even pay for this?"

"My bank account isn't frozen anymore."

"Then why didn't you pay rent or..."

"Do you want a lift or not?" She glared at him and Uriel nodded silently.@@@@

Now that he was an ascended and also possessed Water warlock's blessing, he wasn't scared of Nika's reckless driving anymore. He had his suspicions that even if they crashed at high speed against a wall, he would be able to recover from that within seconds, though he still wore the helmet Nika handed to him just to be safe.

He straddled on top of the beautiful black bike and passed his hands under the seat trying, unsuccessfully, to find something to hold onto.

"Is there anything to hold onto?" Uriel asked.

"That'd be my waist, but don't let your hands wander too much. Well, it's ok if it's just a little." She said flirtatiously and immediately turned on the engine. Her driving was truly as reckless as it was fast, but this time Uriel enjoyed every second of it.

"Everyone, go. Go now! What are you waiting for!? Leave!" He ushered everyone outside and even poked people that were slow on their feet. Every professor present was an expert on their current field of study and they wouldn't allow such disrespectful treatment by any other person than Pangiotis himself as he was the only one who exceeded their accomplishments by far. "Please, continue."

"Yes," Uriel nodded. He was oddly calm, just a few months ago he was terrified of even speaking to Professor Pangiotis and now he replied casually like it was nothing. "First, I know I said it's an Apache tribal wear, but it's actually far older than anything made by the Apache. In fact, it predates the existence of the Apache people and perhaps it also predates humanity as a species."

"What kind of flat earthist nut theory are you spilling out? I kicked everyone out for this!" Pangiotis stood up in anger and was about to nag at him but then he realized the determined look on Uriel's face.

"I can prove it, but I need a flux orb. Any beast level orb will do."

"We don't have any of those in this faculty, I'll have to make a few calls to the engineering department. I would point out that this needs to remain a secret, but it seems you are already aware of it." By pointing out that he didn't need to tell him to keep it a secret Pangiotis was doing exactly that and Uriel didn't miss the irony behind his words.

Frenzied, Pangiotis started calling people on speaker while at the same time texting frantically. Uriel knew he wouldn't be allowed to do the same, but fortunately for him he didn't need to because he could use his smartphone even while it was stored in his museum.

He started texting Nika, Medusa, Sam and Luna to warn them that the last relic had been found and he was standing right in front of it. At that point he didn't care whether or not their cellphones had been bugged but he still took a small precaution and sent a seemingly harmless text message to his friends.

Uriel: I'm at the social sciences faculty having a great time!

Nika understood what he meant as the only thing that would cause him to feel that way was to study an ancient artifact. Sam didn't know what to make of the message, but at the time he received the message he was with Medusa who, driven by a hint of curiosity and a bunch of jealousy, headed towards there.

Luna's case was different, though, as she always kept her cellphone on silence. In fact, she would only check her phone three days later after wondering why did her friends stopped annoying her out of a sudden.
