Chapter 220 Dungeon Raiders Part 1

Chapter 220 Dungeon Raiders Part 1

When Uriel crossed the gate he was greeted with a very unwanted, but at the same time pleasant hug from Nika who was worried something happened to him.

"Where were you? What took you so long?" She asked.

"I had... something to finish." He replied.

No one suspected that he stayed behind to make sure Shaker wouldn't come back from the dungeon, but they didn't ask any questions either. The reason for this was because the gateway led them to the underground chamber beneath the San Fernando cathedral, the place where Uriel found the religious parafernalia and where Tom, Mark's friend, met an untimely end by the hand of one of the living statues.

"This place doesn't look anything like the last time we were here." Uriel pointed out towards the destroyed walls and the non existing ceiling.

"That's on me," Jon scratched the back of his head apologetically. "Last time I visited I had a disagreement with a lady." He continued.

Seiren cringed at the thought of what happened the day Jon faced the living statue, but then some more when she realized they would most likely face her again. Luckily, no statues were on sight and they were still somewhat safe, though that was also thanks to Jon who had been keeping the cryptids at bay all by himself while the rest of the exploration group was being held by Ethan.

"What now?" Sam asked, fearing the answer.

"We need to take Medusa to a hospital as soon as possible." Luna said.

"Medusa?" Uriel lifted a brow. "She was killed by Ethan in the dungeon and Nika killed him in response."

"That's a lie if I ever heard one." Seiren scoffed.

"Wait a minute, let the kid speak. This should be good." Jon took a sip of his flask and smiled.

"You can have your hat back. By the way, what is this thing made of? Even Ethan's trait didn't burn it."

"That old thing? I don't know what it's made of, someone very dear gave it to me a long time ago. Anyway, you can keep it for now, we only cleared the happy hunting grounds and there's a lot more I can learn from Crockett's diary."

"That wasn't our deal!" Uriel shouted, but Luna glared at him and spoke softly.

"What part of Medusa needing urgent medical care do I need to explain to you?"

Luna's nonchalant tone of voice, aloof face and seemingly void eyes didn't leak any of her emotions, but somehow Uriel was able to tell she was angrier than ever. It was as though an immense pressure completely unrelated to her trait or flux energy, was building up inside of the short huntress and he flinched.

"Let's crack on then." Jon said and headed outside of what was left of the cathedral. Contrary to everyone's expectations, they didn't hear the raging sounds of battle and when they exited the building, instead of cryptids they found hundreds of Mapple corp. combat division employees and several army units.

There were tanks, ATVs, ground to air combat vehicles and barricades all over the square in front of the cathedral. Your next chapter awaits on My Virtual Library Empire

Usually, that kind of equipment would only be dispatched for war but what was even more strange was that Jon Hunter was lifting his hands in surrender and he was clearly very flustered.

"Hey, he's a holy rank hunter, he can't be scared of the army..." Sam whispered as he tried to find the reason for Jon's fear.

"He's not faking it, I can tell you that."

At that point, a commanding voice came out from a speaker saying something even more strange.

"Jon Hunter, keep your hands in the air where we can see them and step away. We do not want a confrontation, we're only here to evac the Dungeon Raiders company."@@@@
