Chapter 265 A call for help

Chapter 265 A call for help

Tina Celes stared at the ceiling of her room for a while before finally gathering the courage to speak to Uriel. She knew it wouldn't be easy to ask him to introduce her to Mister Raider, especially taking into consideration that Uriel was her ex boyfriend but she had no other options.

Luna would never speak to her and she thought Sam was still mourning the passing of Medusa. Because of that, her only connection to the Dungeon Raiders was Uriel.

She called her friends who lived downstairs, Mary and Sophie, and agreed to meet at the entrance with their backpacks ready.

"Is this really necessary? I don't want to ruin my clothes." Mary pouted.

"We're not going to hunt, we just need to find Uri and pretend we bumped into him by accident." Tina replied as she handed her backpack to Sophie.

They were all equipped with Celes shoulder cannons and intermediate armor, not just that, thanks to Tina's father they were able to get enough flux orbs from the Cryptid hunting agency to rank up and now they reached the heavenly rank.

Their hunting party was stronger than ever and they were ready to depart.

Exiting the city gates was always a pleasant experience, the first breath of fresh air had a refreshing effect that seemingly woke them up from the stupor of the city.

The vegetation on the sides of the path also helped ease their fears, but nothing could fully erase the bitter experience they had when they last entered the lost city and most of their group were killed by vampires and their bodies turned into blood thirsty marionettes.

But those weren't the cryptids they feared the most. If there was one cryptid they didn't want to encounter it was skinwalkers. Those vile creatures messed up with hunters' mind before killing them, even worse, they turned hunters against each other. Luckily for them, they learned from Uriel what their weakness was and they were all wearing silver jewelry.

They made their way across the barrenlands and reached the lost city within a few hours which left them with at least eight hours until dusk.

"This weapons are amazing!" Mary said cheerfully after turning a beast rank black dog into a splatter on the wall of a nearby building. Some of the gory stuff fell on her armor and clothes, but she didn't mind it because every trace of a cryptid vanished along with the corpse after dying.

His movements were clumsy, but the strength behind his swings couldn't be ignored as he cut the cryptids in half like they were made of butter.

"Are you ok?" Uriel handed an energy drink to the fallen hunter, who greedily drank thinking it was medicine.

"Uri!?" Tina exclaimed, though Uriel didn't react and instead focused all his attention towards the wounded huntress in the ground.

He took a bandage out from his backpack and pressed on the wound and then used duct tape to keep it in place while saying all of his movements out loud. The reason why he did that was because he was doing what Luna instructed him to do.

Usually, he would have left matters to the hunting party he just rescued but they were rookie evolved and he felt some sort of comradery to those who started from the bottom like he did.

Only after making sure the rookies were fine and they left the place Uriel finally acknowledged Tina's presence.

"I wanted to speak with you."

"Hang on a second, where did those guys go?"

"Geez! You're always like this! Every time I try to speak with you, you ignore me! This is the reason why I broke up with you on the first place." Tina raised her voice at Uriel who walked past her like she didn't exist.

"I told you this many times before Tina, but he's not worth it." Mary placed a hand on Tina's shoulder as they watched Uriel distance himself from the group, following the footsteps of the hunters he just rescued towards a nice house with a perfect garden and a small chimney on the roof.

"Shit!" Uriel cursed out loud as black smoke arose to the skies.
