Chapter 308 Dungeons and cryptids

Chapter 308 Dungeons and cryptids

The original Dungeon Raiders gathered at the bridge while the rest of the crew unpacked the supplies. The reason for their meeting was to brainstorm ideas and come up with a plan or at least figure out what to do in the meantime.

It hadn't been long since they left their city and they already experienced their first setback. It wasn't that difficult to solve since there was no scarcity of beast rank cryptids in the wilderness and they were easy enough to hunt, but they couldn't afford to roam the barrenlands aimlessly hunting cryptids just to keep the engine running, they really needed a new objective.

"Alright guys, I have a few ideas on where should we go now but there's a few things I'd like to cover first. Some of the places I'll mention are more accessible than others, and some might be too dangerous. I really have no idea and that's why I need your input.

I think our next step should be to clear a dungeon by ourselves. Sharing the profit with the army and the Celes company turned out to be a mistake. Because of that, they managed to get their hands in a lot of orichalcum while we sold most of our stock to the government at dirt price.

Anyway, since dungeons are most likely located nearby archaeological sites, I need you guys to tell me what do you think of the places I'll mention."

"I don't know why am I even here, I don't have a clue on archaeology." Sam sighed.

"Sam, you're the pilot." Nika glared at him.

"Right, right..."

"So, what would you guys say about going into the Grand Canyon?"

"No!" Sam shouted.

"Why? We should be pretty close..."

"I know, I saw it, trust me... we don't wan t to go anywhere near that place." Sam said with a gloomy expression, probably thinking back on the horrors he witnessed from above.

"No way!" She melted on her chair, completely distraught.

"Uhm, I see, so this is what you meant." Luna said as she skimmed through the celtic mythology.

"What? What is it?" Sam asked, but instead of Luna it was Uriel who provided an explanation.

"Dragons, trolls, giants, ghosts, undead, sea serpents, not to mention the creatures that do have a name like Scylla, the Kraken, Á Bao A Qu and so many others that may or may not exist. Choosing a dungeon also means choosing an opponent. That's not even the worst part, even if we find a dungeon without a strong guardian there's the problem of how to enter."

"Right, we needed three keys to get into the Alamo." Sam nodded.

"So, what's the plan?" Nika asked, prompting everyone to fall into silence while secretly directing glances at Uriel, expecting him to come up with something.

"Why are you all looking at me that way?"

"If it's about cryptids I'm the, uhm, expert."

"Luna's right! You should be the one to figure it out!" Nika quickly added.

Uriel was desperate to find some clarity on what to do next. He tried solving it by himself, he tried asking his friends for help, but now that there weren't any more options he had no choice but to resort to Water warlock.

"You want me to decide? Fine, but you'll be the ones figuring out how to get there!" Uriel exited the bridge and headed towards his room. It was the only place where he could have some peace in the whole airship that felt too small at times, even though it's size was more than fitting to hold even ten times their current crew.

He closed his eyes and entered his museum, reluctantly walking towards his souvenir shop to do the one thing he didn't want to do. He glanced at all the different plushies that were perfect copies of the cryptids Uriel had killed in the past while shaking his head after examining each and every one of them.

"This is too strong, this one is too weak, definitely not this bug," He muttered as he went over the different plushies until he found what he was looking for. "this one will do."@@@@
