Chapter 88 : Extra 2

Chapter 88 : Extra 2

Tina's bedroom was a faithful representation of its owner. It was well decorated but it didn't look tacky, every item from the dolls to the mirror, from the furniture to the carpet looked like things one would find in any regular store. They gave the room a warm feeling and, even though their placing was well planned, it all looked pretty natural and 'live in'.

The only sign of extreme wealth within her room wasn't in any physical possession, but on the fact that true natural light came inside from her window. Being able to afford a place with sunlight in a city surrounded by walls as tall as a building was the absolute dream, but on this particular morning Tina found herself upset by the light licking her beautiful face.

It looked as though the sun itself came out of his way around the globe just to wake her up.

"Just five more minutes" She muttered, but the sun kept beaming on her mercilessly until she finally opened her eyes.

She got up rubbing her eyes, took a perfectly warm shower and then had her breakfast, comprised of natural yogurt and fruits, enveloped in her pink bathrobe. When she was done eating her exquisite and luxurious breakfast she went in to pick her attire for the day.

"Sibi, play 'skipping on sunshine'" She said loudly and her home assistant app played the merry tune.

Her walk-in closet was bigger than one of the dormitory rooms where several students lived and it was filled with natural fiber clothes as expensive as a car.

The contents of her closet would have been expensive even in the old days, when there were farms and factories all over the surface of the planet, but now that human civilization had been relagated to megacities and confined in concrete and alloy walls, they were hundreds of times more expensive despite looking somewhat plain.

That was precisely her style, Tina would always wear expensive clothes, bags, even her shoes costed more than a month's wage for a regular person, but she still looked natural and down to earth.

"I don't think that's the case, my father is not so high up on the corporation as to know any sort of secret information." She honestly replied.

"Geez! I sometimes wonder why am I even friends with you guys." Tina sighed.

Both girls looked flustered by Tina's comment. Being close to her had been the best thing that ever happened to them as they enjoyed a lot of attention and many benefits, but the opposite could be said of being rejected by her. If Tina kicked them out they would be outcasts, what's more, if they did something to upset her she could destroy their lives with but a few words.

"I don't get it, why are you so invested in that guy? He's a wimp, a weakling and an idiot. He's not even handsome. If I were on your shoes I would totally date Mark." Mary said with a wishful expression.

"How dumb can you be? If Tina likes him there must be a reason!" Sophie scolded her naive friend. While it was true that both of them were with Tina based on their own interest, Sophie and Mary had become genuine friends to each other.

"It's all because of my father..." Tina lingered for a few seconds. "If I want to become the heir of the Celes company I need to get a degree, or else he will have me marry someone more competent and give him the company."

"What!? How cruel!" Mary exclaimed. "Marrying someone you don't love is so awful. That Uriel guy is so lucky. He'll be the future husband of the prettiest girl in the city and become the heir of the Celes company, and it will be a marriage out of love!"

"Love?" Tina looked at Mary with pitiful eyes, as if she was staring at a puppy chasing its tail instead of a human being. "I don't love him, I don't even like him. The only reason I agreed to date him was so he would help me pass anthropology. It also made me look great because he's dirt poor and just average looking.

But everything will be for nothing if he doesn't show up before the semester starts!" Though even being called average looking by Tina could be considered as a compliment, she couldn't let anyone but her friends hear her say something as cold and calculative as that.

Tina gazed at the sky and for a glimpse of a second her true feelings and her thoughts mixed up and she wondered where could 'Uri' be and if he was safe.
