Chapter 794 Impossible (2)

Lorien took a breath and exhaled slowly.

Looking at Sylas now, she realized that if she wanted to win this, it seemed that she would have to show much more of her abilities. If not... it would all be lost.

Her aura changed, and the obscuring lights around her faded somewhat. From a seductive woman ready to open her legs to the highest bidder, she became eerily calm, calculating, sharp.

And yet, there was a calming effect to her gaze. On the one hand, it seemed there only to lull one into a false sense of security. But on the other, it was like she was a loving wife, a silent head of the household who might have stood to her husband's back, but would likewise decide all the most important matters.

All of these thoughts flashed in Sylas' head one after another before Lorien's mist coated her body.

Laws pooled in from the surroundings, spontaneously forming Runes.

This wasn't something that a mere Flesh Master should be capable of. This was certainly a level beyond Rune Soul, but it was also clear that this wasn't Lorien's true Rune Mastery level. Instead, it was because of this pink mist that she was capable of displaying might of a Rune Master far beyond her level.

And then she moved.

Her arm sharpened into a scythe of pink mist, slashing out at Sylas. Runes bloomed along its edge, shimmering, reflective lights akin to rays bouncing from the surface of metal echoed across it.

The danger signs in Sylas' mind rose to another level and the situation changed once more.

Most had believed it was over the moment Sylas brought out a Rune Armor. But none could have possibly expected that Lorien was capable of such a thing.

Sylas took a step back, barely dodging, but it was too clumsy.

He was used to having perfect control of his body. For every step of his journey along the way, he had . But right now, his body wasn't here, it was just his mind.

And it made Sylas realize not only just how much of a crutch had always been for him, but it also made him painfully aware of his weaknesses.

Not in the slightest.

He began to adapt, his motions becoming more fluid, more seamless.

Lorien flipped through the air, landing on her feet. Her pink mist spread into a pair of wings on her back that gathered up a large number of Wind-related Foundations.

They flapped once and she closed the distance once again, her leg whipping out at Sylas' head.

Sylas blocked with a forearm, taking a strong step forward and forcing Lorien's avatar's leg to split in the skies. Then, his leg struck out at her planted foot, sharp and fast.

Lorien's hip twisted, her wings flapping again and she twirled in the air, dodging out of the attack and cutting down with a heel kick in the same fluid motion.

Sylas anticipated it well, his tail jetting out and blocked the blow. It snaked up Lorien's leg, tightening and then lifting her high into the air.

Strong gusts of wind formed in the surroundings as Lorien fought back against a slam toward the ground. But she lost out.

BANG!

The air was knocked out of Lorien's avatar. But because it was just a soul, it instead felt like her mind had blanked out for just a moment. When she came to, it was just in time to see a heel cracking down toward her head in a streak of dark violet.

Her gaze flashed and her pink mist flared. There was a flicker of silvery light and then she vanished.

Sylas' foot crashed against the ground and he felt a sharp pain to his back. He hadn't been able to change his position quickly enough, his control still lacking. And this time, he suffered for it.

He felt a fissure in his armor and as he stumbled forward, but Lorien's rain of attacks was far from over.

BANG! BANG! BANG!

She gained a small upper hand and didn't let it go, a barrage of fists, kicks, blades, assorted with a myriad of Runes raining down in an unequal bombardment.
