Chapter 297 Terrifying revelation
His mind was still functioning but in a strange way. He could take in information, but it was as if he was incapable of processing it.
He was unable to act or even think clearly.
His gaze then locked onto something in the distance. Three massive orbs floated before him, and their size were too overwhelming to simply explain in words.
Each one floated still, glowing and pulsing with a controlled rhythm. It was as if they were watching him, observing his every movement.
The energies that he had been following—the red, golden, and dark blue trails—converged into a single point. After some brief moment, each of them branched towards a different orb.
The red energy flowed into the first orb, radiating a cold and suffocating aura of destruction. The golden energy flowed into the second orb, radiating light and a calm aura of creation. Explore more stories with empire
Finally, the dark blue energy was drawn into the third orb, radiating a nourishing and soothing aura of preservation.
As the energy filled each orb, they began glowing and pulsing with their respective colors.
The radiance of their light was too pure and too magnificent. The intensity so profound that one of his eyes burst within its socket.
Strangely, there was no pain, no agony. His remaining eye stayed open, wide and mesmerized as it continued to take in the breathtaking sight before him.
Julian felt a strange sense of peace within him. He could not understand what he was feeling or why he was feeling such emotions, but the emotions were real.
But just as the feelings deepened, the red orb jerked violently. Its calm glow was now replaced by chaotic flashes, like an electric bulb flickering on and off.
Suddenly, a colossal eye manifested within it. It was deep red and its gaze was so intense that it seemed to pierce into the very core of existence.
The instant Julian's remaining eye locked onto that unfathomable gaze, his heart, which had stopped beating, began pounding once more.
But this time, it was faster and harder, and he could feel an unbearable pressure building in his chest. His numb body began jerking violently, and overwhelming fear washed over him.
"What happened to your eyes, Julian?" Alden whispered, his voice barely audible. His hands reached out, lightly cupping Julian's face.
The wound was gruesome and it looked as though someone had forcibly plucked his eyes.
He glanced around desperately, searching for a potential culprit. "What force... what power could have done this to you?" he muttered in disbelief.
His grip tightened around Julian's trembling body. "Hold on, Julian," he murmured, though he wasn't sure if Julian could hear him. "I'll find a way. Just hold on..."
He carried Julian in his arms and hurried through the hallways. The servants scattered in all directions, their faces filled with panic and confusion as they witnessed the Duke's frantic movements.
As he reached Alice's room, he slammed the door open with force, causing it to bang against the wall.
Regina and Alice were seated on the bed, talking quietly, but their conversations were cut off when they saw the panicked look in Alden's eyes.
Regina's face went pale when she caught the sight Julian's miserable form. Her breath caught in her throat as she rose to her feet, rushing towards them.
"Julian!" she gasped, her voice trembling with fear.
Alice's eyes widened in shock and concern as well and she too stood quickly. "Alden, what happened?!" she asked in urgency.
She could see the blood pooling around Julian's head, and the sight sent a chill down her spine.
Alden's voice was filled with panic. "I don't know! I saw him in the garden screaming, and when i went to him... this was how I found him! What is happening to him?!"
Regina's eyes watered as her gaze locked onto Julian's empty eye socket. Her heart squeezed in pain. She reached out to touch his face, her fingers trembling as she touched the blood-soaked skin.
"My baby... who did this to you?"
Alice moved swiftly, taking control of the situation. "We need to get him on the bed now," she said, controlling the panic in her voice.
