She shook her head, forcing herself to not think about the questions running wild in her mind.
Focus, Alice! This isn't the time for that. I need to figure out what's causing him pain, she muttered to herself with determination flaring in her eyes.
Her glowing eyes darted across his internal system, scanning every inch of his body.
Finally, after what felt like an eternity, her gaze locked onto something unusual. It was a small cluster of unidentifiable mana that was spread throughout his body. It was like a star in the night sky.
"Finally found it," she whispered, her heart racing with both relief and dread of the unknown.
She took a deep breath. I have to remove these, she thought, her resolve hardening as she prepared to act.
She channeled her mana and shaped it into a thin thread. With utmost care, she directed the thread towards one of the chaotic clusters. She then gently wrapped it around the mana in an attempt to pull it out of his system.
The moment her mana made contact, Julian's body shook violently as if struck by an unseen force. He made a sudden, gurgling sound before he coughed blood uncontrollably.
"Julian!" Regina screamed, her eyes wide with terror.
She lunged forward, her trembling hands cupping his face as she hurriedly wiped the blood from his mouth.
"What is happening, Alice?" She cried, her heart threatening to shatter into pieces.
Alden clenched his fists so tightly that his skin turned white. He gritted his teeth in fury, unable to do anything but watch as Julian continued to suffer.
Alice immediately withdrew her mana, and Julian's body stopped trembling. His chest rose and fell with ragged breathing, and as time passed, it slowly calmed down.
She exhaled sharply, wiping the sweat from her forehead. "There is impure mana inside him," she explained. "It's blocking his natural mana flow. We have to get it out—there's no other way."
"How?" Regina whispered desperately. Her eyes wet with tears as her hands caressed Julian's face. "How can we do it, Alice?"
"It didn't work," Alice whispered. "Even if I go slower, it still hurts him."
Regina gripped Alice's arm, her eyes filled with despair. "What do we do now?"
Alice's eyes darkened with unease. "It's as if the impure mana inside him is... alive," she said slowly, each word carrying heavy weight.
"It senses my mana, reacts to it like a predator, and attacks it directly. The damage it inflicts gets reflected in Julian's body, causing the pain and suffering you are seeing."
Regina gently patted Julian's chest, feeling the faint, uneven rhythm of his heart.
"Alive?" she repeated. "It's living... within him?"
Alice nodded. "Yes, and because of that, we are trapped. If I try to force it out, it will tear him apart from the inside. We can't risk that. Right now... only Julian can defeat it. His body must learn to adapt or push it out, but it has to come from within him."
Regina brought her hands to her head, her shoulders shaking as she burst into tears.
Alice watched helplessly, her own eyes welling with unshed tears. She tried but could not find any words to comfort Regina.
After some time, Regina calmed down herself, wiping the tears from her face. She then looked at Alice, her eyes red and watery.
"But how?" she pleaded. "He is unconscious! He has been in this state for hours—he can't even open his eyes. It's as if he is trapped... in a coma. How can he save himself like this?"
Alice shook her head. "I don't know, Regina. But he has to push this mana out himself..."
Regina clutched Alice's hands tighter, her voice cracking in desperation. "Alice... there must be some way. We can't just sit here and watch him suffer."
Alice closed her eyes in deep thought. After a painful silence, she opened them and faced Regina with a determined expression.
"There is only one way we might be able to help him."
Regina's eyes brightened with a flicker of hope. "How? Tell me!"
Alice hesitated, a deep blush creeping up her cheeks, "By... by sucking him."
