Chapter 199: Fighting Moldon, The Poison Deity
......
BLING!
*Ding!* *The Infinite Evolution System wishes the host luck on his journey through Infinite Evolution!*
Following this system notification, no more unique pop-ups appeared, leaving Azmodeus emotionlessly staring at thin air.
After a few moments of getting lost inside his own mind, he looked toward a dark gray aura in the distance—an aura that was certainly alerted by the death of Nightshade.
"The Path to Infinite Evolution... One that never ends..." Azmodeus muttered with a listless gaze, his blood-colored eyes honing in on the rapidly approaching world-ending aura.
The grind ends and begins again...
He wasted no time and sped toward the poisonous aura, aiming to meet the vastly more powerful existence head on!
...
Time... Such an abstract and indecipherable concept...
By the time that a year had passed since meeting Moldon, Azmodeus had died more than 10 million times, even surpassing the speed at which he died when fighting True Darth.
It was during this year that Azmodeus understood the vast chasm that lay between the Peak Planet Forger Realm and whatever midway realm Moldon had achieved in the Peak Adamantine Rank.
According to Azmodeus's calculations, it was highly probable that he would need more than 20 years to surpass this opponent.
With the amount of time he had left before the barrier between Sqaure's closed, not many options were left for him to choose from...
However, after 3 years of fighting the Poison Deity and being disintegrated into goo dozens of millions of times, Azmodeus finally figured out exactly what it was that he should do.
And after placing down something he liked to call the 'Primordial Checkpoint Connector', he was able to directly teleport from outside the Sunsmite Empire; this would stand true even if the barrier permanently closed for the century!
This was all done for the sole objective of sticking it out for the long run!
Azmodeus stared up at the infuriated godlike man as he apathetically responded, "I come back to life for the sole purpose of the grind. For even in death, the grind never ends."
"What does that even mean, you bastard!?" Moldon's expression practically exploded in anger; his brows furrowed so deeply that he might've popped a blood vessel at the rate he was overheating.
-
Explosions of untold proportions ceaselessly resounded from where the two endlessly battled.
This occurred mostly because Azmodeus tried out many Traits and Technique's, including size manipulation Traits and Physique's.
On the note of improvements, his Low-Star Law of Death advanced to Level 5 long ago and was already extremely far into said level.
It bordered on the zenith that sat between the Low-Star Law of Death and the High-Star Law of Death.
Furthermore, that wasn't the only Law that had improved by leaps and bounds. After all, with the unending farming of innumerable amounts of lives during his bouts with the Poison Deity, a myriad of lives were reaped, with a good chunk of them happening because of his residue attack energy.
It was through these unintended, beneficial actions that Laws were rapidly advancing in comprehension.
This was not only due to the individual comprehensions of Azmodeus but also because a new feature of the Infinite Evolution System was activated after taking on the second round of costs for his strength.
This was the additional reward he obtained after enduring the excruciating pain that quite literally never stopped being inflicted on him. At least, that was the way he viewed it.
This 'reward' in question was the ability to absorb a partial amount of the Laws from those he killed!
Though the inhabitants of the Astral Plane were typically born without Laws and lived their entire lives never making use of them, upon breaking past a certain Physical Existence Rank, Laws of the Astral Plane started to naturally assimilate with their bodies.
And what did this mean for the Loot Goblin...?
It meant that he had acquired another massive source of loot!
And there was no way in hell he would allow even the tiniest piece of loot to escape his clutches!
