Chapter 335: Forced Ascension, Eternal Jade Heavens

.......

CRACKA—BOOOOM!!!

While slashing out with a power exceeding anything the other Demonstars could've hoped to match, Lucifer stood with his large, muscular arms crossed over one another. He posed himself in a position similar to a certain white alien in a show about spiky-haired aliens.

"..."

Lucifer blankly watched as everything in 'that direction' was erased from the map.

Literally everything in 'that direction' was no longer there...

In a fan-shaped wave of destruction, more than 10% of the boundlessly wide Hell's Paradise vanished.

"???"

Honing in on this location from countless miles away, a pair of eyes just as ancient as Lucifer's materialized in the heavens above. While looking over everything with narrowed eyes and a discerning glint, the pair of eyes had their eyelashes flicker for a moment. Then, with a voice just as antiquated, everyone heard something say, "Lucifer, you know the rules.

If you are to break the rules set in place, then the Immortals will descend. And from that point onward, your fate no longer has anything to do with me."

"..."

Turning his emotionless expression up to the pair of heavenly eyes, Lucifer flicked his fingers and said, "Go away, old man. I have long tired of the monotony of this world, and if they wish to come down and confront us, then I welcome it."

A silence pervaded the atmosphere between the two, and then within the expectations of the ancient pair of eyes, Lucifer's finger flick caused the eyes to blow away in a puff of smoke.

As the energy that made up the eyes dispersed into the surroundings, the mysterious old man's voice reverberated once more, saying, "If this is your choice, then so be it. But Lucifer, do understand that messing with a True Enigma has never led to anything good for us. If, despite knowing that, you still wish to go through with this fool's errand, then do as you will.

Silently speaking to a fellow person in peasant attire was a man with a horse-shaped face. He whispered to the other man's ears while looking up at a large cliff and the magnificent pearl white castle that sat on its edges.

"Sigh... You really are one to get caught up in those silly rumors, aren't you? If you were half as focused on your job as you were with believing everything you hear, then farming productivity would be at an all-time high!"

While berating his friend in a disappointed tone, this peasant looked to the castle and noticed more than a few unusually active guardsmen pacing around in circles.

"Hmm? Is something happening in the Royal Castle...?"

While mumbling to himself, he couldn't help but recall what his friend had said about the mysterious man that appeared in the Royal Castle not too long ago. Though, he quickly discarded that train of thought and went back to gathering the seeds for the next harvest.

His friend tagged along soon after, although reluctantly he might add.

This place was known as Everveil, and it was one of the many Immortal Kingdoms sitting in a remote corner of the massive Immortal Realm that went by the name of 'Eternal Jade Heavens'. It was also a kingdom well known for its agriculture and highly intuitive ways of farming Immortal Food.

In the Immortal Realms, everybody was at the very minimum, in the Half-Immortal Realm. From the lowliest of slaves all the way to the strongest of rulers—all were at least a Rank 1 Half-Immortal.

Just like mortals, they too needed to consume food, or rather immortal food, in order to survive. It was not easy for normal physiques to withstand the constant flow of Immortal Energy that permeated the Eternal Jade Heavens and other Immortal Realms.

Therefore, those in the Half-Immortal Realm who were still adjusting to the radically dangerous climate needed to consume 'Immortal Food' to keep their bodies stabilized.

If they didn't consume enough Immortal Food to nourish their bodies, then even with their eternal lifespans, they would still die...

This was where Rank 1 Immortal Kingdoms like Everveil came in. They grew and nurtured Immortal Crops that were split among their own people. After which, the surplus would be sectioned off and sent to other regions in exchange for a currency known as 'Immortal Crystals.'

A few Rank 1 Immortal Crystals were enough for the average commoner Immortal family to survive for around a month. Whereas Rank 2 Immortal Crystals were what the Everveil Royal Family and high-ranking nobles used with each other.

It was in a mystical kingdom with an economical climate like this one that was currently in the midst of deciding what to do with the crimson-haired man that just woke up in his cell...
