Chapter 135 The Final 12 Days (11)
Unlike the chimeras Glacia had brought back in the past, this new batch wasn't formed of a singular species. Instead, it was almost like a roaming pack of bandits made up of stragglers from different groups or something to that extent.
'Some wolves, a weird reptile thing, a much larger breed of foxmole, and a few creatures that had three pairs of birdlike legs, with the rest of their body resembling a lemur.' Thinking back to the creatures he'd dissected earlier, Aoni was truly stumped because, in theory, species with such a wide variety and living habits shouldn't band together in this way, yet here they were.@@@@
The only other excuse the Lad could come up with was that his Floof was more of a pinch hitter or sniper than he thought, resorting to hit-and-run tactics against large groups.
Species and reasons aside, the Low Grade-Two Energia Cells had come from the weird bird-legged lemur things, so what stat they could potentially boost was in the air.
It wasn't like he had fought them, nor could he interrogate Glacia for answers either, which was why he found himself holding the two pinkish-red ECs in front of the faces of his Summons.
Realistically, handing them over like this without proper knowledge wasn't exactly the smartest decision; however, the fact that he could feel a faint chill radiating from the two gummy-snack organs was more than enough to identify that they had been Elementalized with Ice Energia.
While Nyria had already unlocked her Ice manipulation, the same couldn't be said for Glacia; as such, although the percentage of her obtaining the passive by absorbing an EC was extremely small, it wasn't zero, so there was technically still a chance.
"Alright, listen very carefully to me, don't just gobble these up like food, okay? They are very valuable resources and work like Adding points.
"GAO GAO!"
'Fuck...why are you yelling,' flinching at Glacia's sudden outburst, Aoni couldn't stop himself from thinking she had developed something akin to tourettes because anytime the floof heard the words, she'd scream them back like an echo.
"Yes...add points, fooo, remember, chew them very slowly before swallowing; doing this will activate the EC since it's going to come in contact with your Energia, at which point you need to concentrate on absorbing everything." Although he was explaining things in the simplest terms possible, Aoni knew that the only one who would understand it would be Nyria.
Glacia...well, she wasn't exactly a lost cause, but it wouldn't be something she'd consciously do; instead, her instincts would kick in, and she'd enter autopilot mode.
That's right; he'd lifted his left arm parallel to the ground, clutched his wrist with his right hand to steady it, and formed....a finger gun.
Yeah, the one attack he was most proud of was, of course, Ice Bullet, and the reason was probably unexpected; it wasn't because of versatility or even damage output...but because he swore it made him look cool.
Vanity aside, the Lad was still working out the kinks behind his newest technique.
'Of all the things I could have trouble with, Moving and shooting was by far the lowest on the list. I figured it would be accuracy or even the power behind my attack that would hold me back. Hell, even distance should be an issue, but I nailed all those with relative ease.'
'Condense,' with the mental command, Aoni imagined the air around his fingertip churning into a vortex and rapidly cooling before drawing in the moisture and forming a small projectile similar to a musket ball.
'Charge,' as the ice ball took shape, the imaginary vortex suddenly picked up speed, drawing in more moisture and freezing around the ball in a fashion not unlike a shell forming over a gooey chocolate center.
'Rotate,' that's right, since guns had existed for hundreds, if not thousands of years on Terra, the mechanics behind bullet rotation weren't lost to Aoni, and he even added it to his attack for increased piercing and punching power.

At his mental command, the vortex suddenly shifted, spinning in the opposite direction, dragging along the newly formed bullet.
Mind you, a side effect of adding rotation to his Ice Bullet was that the former musket ball would automatically turn cylindrical and mold itself into the visage of a true bullet, leaving only the final part.
'Fire!'
