Chapter 1086 1086: Avengers

Amir's body swayed left and right before collapsing to the ground in a loud, wet thud with his neck still oozing blood like it was a macabre.

The demon chomped on the decapitated head like it was nothing. Skull and flesh crunched under the Zodiac's powerful jaws.

Everybody were horrified as they stared at the Captain's body.

"CAPTAIN!"

"Ah… more strength for me. If only Gustav's kid was here so I eat him too and grow more powerful. But no worries," Zodiac one uttered as he turned around to face the horrified Dawn forces.

Three.

They had already lost three of the initial seventeen elite forces that attacked the zodiac.

The remaining fourteen didn't know how to react.

But they couldn't afford to be grief stricken on the battlefield.

That was why it was called a battlefield.

"... You all will just have to do." Jim smirked and then blitzed towards the nearest person.

But before he could even attack, a dozen bolts of lightning rained down on him from above forcing the zodiac to leap away in time as the bolts crashed harmlessly into the ground.

"Come on! No time to mourn! Time is running out. Let's take this bastard down now!" Max screamed at those who had known the Captain for years.

The Zodiac skidded to a halt as he lifted a head to glare in the direction of Max who had been the one to rain down lightning on him.

Before he could take a step, the ground surged loudly and bursting out from the earth were hundreds of earthen spikes that shot towards the demon who began dashing around trying to dodge the spikes.

"He's right. Let's avenge the Captain." Dante coldly uttered as he placed his hands on the ground.

"... And the others that lost their lives," Mada roared as he bolted forward with his sword wrapped in visual ki in the form of a crushing wave swinging towards the demon from the side.

Leaning calmly, the sword rushed past the demon before its claws shot towards the descendant's exposed midsection.

His hand snapped in place with his sword intercepting the claw strike that made his bones rattle as a deep vibration coursed through his veins.

He was sent skidding away when Charlotte swooped in with dozens balls of water flying towards the demon who clashed with every single one of them with his claws ripping through them like they were made out of mere fabric.

Jay also pressured with a few water spikes from behind but all of them were avoided immediately.

Lyra descended from above with a crescent shaped wind blade rocketing towards the zodiac's head.

Looking at her for a moment, the demon smoothly spun around allowing for Lyra and the wind blade to cleave into the earth kicking up a cloud of dust.

Before she could regain her composure, the Zodiac's leg shot through the dust like a sniper's bullet, rocketing towards her side in a powerful kick aimed at ripping through her body.

A few inches away from the kick connecting, Thalos immediately descended from above with his greatsword snapping in place.

The kick was absorbed by the gargoyle's sword as he parried it to the side destabilising Jim for a second.

Enough for the gargoyle to lunge forward with a powerful swing towards the demon's head.

Leaning backward immediately, the sword rushed past Zodiac one's head with rushing fury.

Then his leg darted towards the gargoyle with blazing speed that in less than a beat, it smashed through Thalos' body with massive force that split the earth beneath their feet, kicking up clouds of dust and debris.

The gargoyle was blasted backward from the force of the kick but he didn't go too far as he dug his sword into the ground halting his motion immediately.

Kira and Noir darted in, immediately.

A gigantic fireball roaring from the wolf towards the demon while a bright crackling sphere of lightning from the lightning phoenix's beak screamed out with intensity.

Flexing his whole body forward, the Zodiac crossed his hands in front of his face as the attacks slammed into him with ferocious force.

The heat from the fireball was trying to burn through his body but his durability was very high allowing him resist the flames and lightning beam that could have been enough to tear through any normal being.

Before he could drop his claws down, a massive earthen club smashed into his face with devastating force that almost lifted the demon off his feet.

His head only swung backward for a moment before he snapped it back forward with a death glare fixed at them all.

Raze darted forward with explosive speed as lightning crackled across his frame.

He vaulted towards the demon with a lightning infused punch screaming towards the Zodiac.

Lifting one hand forward, the demon seized the human's wrist immediately unleashing a mini shockwave across the area.

Before Raze could react, he was forcefully yanked out of the air and clobbered into the earth with destructive force that a ten metres wide crater yawned open beneath him followed by a cloud of dust.

Blood forcefully yanked out of his throat and nose as dizziness threatened to overwhelm him.

The demon's foot shot towards the human's head in an attempt to put an end to his story once and for all.

A searing heat.

Lifting his head, the Zodiac immediately spun around as he avoided a fireball that crashed into the space he stood a moment ago.

Before he could even reposition himself, Scarlet appeared before him with a fiery punch that connected with the demon's face.

However, it only moved the whole head a few inches to the side with flames catching onto its fur.

Glaring into her eyes, the Zodiac's leg shot towards her stomach with blazing force.

Instinctively, the girl raised her hands and placed it over her stomach as the kick connected with the force of a siege ram.

"Ack…."

Her body was sent hurtling away with rocketing speed that within a few seconds, she crashed into the earth and skid to a stop beneath someone's feet.
