Ch. 46 – Vampire Massacre

Ch. 46 – Vampire Massacre

Unbeknownst to the vampires, their presence has long been known by Chamber, who have already made plans against them.

While they’re still a few kilometers away from the village, Chamber had discreetly brought them all to the Mirror Dimension without any of them noticing.

How did he do it?

You see, what’s fantastic about Mirror Dimensions is that creating them is silent and produces no sound, so Chamber sneakily created a large crack in the space and manipulated the crack to engulf them all one by one but not through their front instead, from their behind.

In this way, Chamber achieved the effect of silently bringing them to the dimension without causing a reaction from them.

Except for their sense of smell which can easily be hidden with a simple magic spell, Vampires don’t have any means of detecting their surroundings.

And now, upon their arrival at the village, Chamber kept his eye on them and upon arriving inside the walls of the village, he activated the rune he created inside the village.

It is basically a prototype barrier that blocks everything that contains magic or mana from getting in and out.

It is a double-purpose barrier as it can be used for defense but also to trap enemies in a single place without letting them escape.

This is the current rune he’s been practicing creating as it is similar to the large barrier that surrounds the Earth from the Marvel Universe with the three Sanctum Sanctorums serving as the nodes to power the barrier.

As he said earlier, this is just a prototype rune and its function is less effective, especially in range as it can only cover the entire village.

For now.

Once he developed it far enough, he could cover continents with just a single rune, and with his plan to have five Sanctum Sanctorums to be built, it’ll take no time before the entire supernatural world is barred from entering the human world.

You see, what’s funny about all the existing Gods whether major or minor, is that they all live in their own and separate dimensions, not only them, but most Supernatural beings such as the Angels and Devils, also live in another dimension.

Only weaker Supernatural races such as Vampires, Werewolves, and such are the only ones who live in the human world.

The purpose of the barrier rune or as he named it Aegis of the Eternal Veil, is to prevent the Gods and powerful races from entering Earth while he and his Mystic Society would be the ones to handle the Vampires and alike.

It’s kind of like keeping the strong ones away while personally watching over the weaker ones.

After all, no matter how strong he becomes, it would be impossible to directly and personally keep the Gods away.

Even if he does become strong enough or the strongest one in this world, it would be quite a hassle to personally watch over everyone.

Chamber suddenly snapped back to reality when he noticed that the vampires were preparing to leave, only to be repelled by the barrier he created through runes.

‘It works!’ Chamber cheered in his mind.

Although the barrier is designed to repel only those who can magic in their bodies, it’s not as easy as it seems. All living beings in the world whether humans or even animals, have magic in their bodies, albeit weaker and smaller compared to an average supernatural being.

There are only a few cases such as Tam, who has twice as much mana as a normal human.

And so, he sets up a limit on the barrier. Let’s explain it in numbers.

A normal human has an average mana of 5 to 10, in rare cases going up until 15.

So, the barrier is ‘programmed’ to only repel those whose mana and any other kinds of energy such as Demonic Energy, are numbered 16 and above.

“Everyone! It’s a trap!” Hearing the old vampire’s warning, Chamber raised an eyebrow and immediately made his move.

The pocket watch hanging from his neck immediately glowed in green light as Chamber cast the Temporal Lock ability on every vampire inside the village.

He’s been training with his Chronos Requiem and so far, he managed to improve it to the point that he can now put a single being into a Temporal Lock for an entire minute.

As for these vampires, Chamber would only be able to lock them for 5 seconds at most. It might not sound much but when it comes to battle, even a millisecond mattered very much.

So the fact that all these vampires are unaware that they’re locked in time for 5 seconds, is enough for Chamber to cast Demonic Bullets that penetrated deep into their foreheads, slowly dwindling their numbers.

However, despite gaining an advantage, it was impossible for Chamber to fully eradicate the vampires and only managed to eliminate one-tenth of them before he lost grip over their Temporal Locks.

The old vampire’s eyes widened in surprise mixed with cautiousness and fear while the younger one beside him, was shivering slightly upon seeing so many of his brethren dead on the ground.

‘I should learn some AoE Spells that could kill hundreds in a single area.’ Chamber thought to himself. Unfortunately, he’s going to need a magic circle to fully maximize the large spells.

***

“Where are you, Wizard? Show yourself!” Damien, knowing who they’re up to thanks to the old vampire’s reports, raised his finger and looked around frantically.

The other vampires around him started sniffing the air,

This continued as more and more vampires started falling on their ground, meeting the same fate as the first hundreds of vampires that died first, which is decapitation.

As I was the first to react, the rest of the vampires were a step too late and before they realized that their enemy was gone and their allies were dying, their vision started to darken.

Without hesitation, I quickly grabbed the foolish leader beside me and pulled away from the crowd, throwing ourselves out of the way as the thousands of vampires finally reacted and tried to fight back.

However, despite it all, my fellows never had a chance to fight back, their heads continued to pile on the ground.

‘It’s his speed! He’s way too fast! Faster than even Lord Dracula!’ As realization dawned upon my face, I finally registered the fact that we weren’t bringing ourselves to kill Lazarus’s murderer.

No.

We just brought ourselves to our graves.
