Chapter 561: What It Means For A Monster
Chapter 561: What It Means For A Monster
The purpose of all life is to bore another, and such was also the case for a monster. Libyan, once a queen of a lamian hive larger than anywhere else on Altaris, held hope despite being in hell, for at least her daughter’s blood would carry her blood forward. That hope, however, shattered under the weight of Tariyaan’s feet. A sense of desperation overwhelmed her as the lamian queen rushed to her daughter.
Flinching away from the oncoming monster, Tariyaan moved his leg and allowed the lamia to get a better look at Maine. Motionless, she lay in the crater formed by the devil’s colossal feet. Not from her was Raven, still breathing,g and yet he was of little corner to Libyan. Moving closer to Maine’s body, she picked her up in her arms and placed an ear to her chest.
The pounding of her heart could be heard through her chest. Laying her daughter back down to the floor, Libyan turned her eyes to her right hand and grabbed it firmly. Pulling on it with as much strength as possible, she twisted her forearm and broke it off along with the flesh and the skin. Throwing the limb next to her daughter, her eyes lifted to Raven, who was barely conscious.@@@@
"You better take my blood back to the overworld..." With her offering made, a way for her daughter to carry even more of her within her belly, Libyan rose to her feet and, with her hand still bleeding, glanced up at Tariyaan. Through gritted teeth, the lamia growled at the devil and after just a few seconds passed, her body began to grow just as tall as the primordial.
Flinching further back, Tariyaan found himself sweating for once. But trying to put up a brave front, he swung his hand in the air and screamed at Libyan.
"Oh, don’t act like you care! You were ready to kill her yourself!"
"THEN YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT ME!" Lunging at him, she wasted no time in coiling her tail around Tariyaan and binding him in a constricting bind. The devil struggled and tried to get his hands out of her grasp, but digging her teeth into his shoulders, Libyan tore his tendons and started eating him alive. As the first morsel of his flesh landed in her belly, what had been the devil’s powers, she could feel them coursing there already.
The giant devils continued wrestling with each other in the background, and while Libyan feasted on Tariyaan’s body, she was, in turn, being slammed against everything. However, her injuries healed the moment she injected the devil’s flesh; the lamia had no intention of stopping as in a battle of attrition and stubbornness, nobody could beat her.
"I’LL TEAR YOUR SOUL IF YOU DON’T DO WHAT I SAY THIS INSTANT!" Tariyaan howled in her face.
Opening her mouth as wide as possible, she dug her teeth into his jaws in response. Crushing his mouth and pulling his tongue out from the back of his throat, she gulped it without pause and smiled at him sadistically.
"I’d love to see you try without being devoured completely!" Laughing in his face, she poured more and more poison through his back and kept eating him away.
Tariyaan’s struggles grew more desperate as more time passed, and although his magic could’ve helped him, with his tongue gone and his body severely paralyzed, he could neither chant a spell nor move a muscle without getting eaten further.
Slamming her head against his, Libyan finally managed to kill him temporarily, but with no time to waste, she began tearing through his flesh. A few moments past once the hero and his party were gone already, she kept getting slammed by Tariyaan’s fist as he was being revived over and over continuously. Trying to reach for his heart, the core at which his soul rested, she desperately wanted to crush his soul so that he couldn’t revive himself anymore. But that came with a hefty realization, to kill him with their contract still active would spell the end of her existence as well.
Looking at him in his squashed eye while digging deeper into his flesh, she thought of her daughter one last time.
’You better survive! Failure’s not an option, for you’re the daughter of Libyan, the queen of the lamian race!’ And with that, the tussle between the devils came to an end. Never to be heard from, and never to be seen again.
