Chapter 497
C497 – Emperor Yu’s Nine Cauldrons the Divine Artifact of the State
At that very moment, just as Yuanba had suspected, Jiang Hao was indeed deep within the ancient tomb. The vast space was shrouded in darkness, the air oppressively heavy. Without his array of magical abilities, Jiang Hao would never have ventured into such a place.
Activating the Eye of God, Jiang Hao took in his surroundings. The space was surprisingly expansive, resembling an ancient underground city. It seemed as though every structure from an ancient city had been replicated here—complete with terracotta soldiers standing guard, a variety of farming implements, unrecognizable funerary objects, and a multitude of bronze artifacts. The sight of the tomb left Jiang Hao in awe.
After some time, Jiang Hao had gained a general understanding of the sprawling underground city and located the central tomb chamber among the eight cardinal directions. Stepping inside, he was struck by a starkly different atmosphere—immensely solemn, charged with an imperial majesty that commanded singular reverence.
The grand burial chamber was flanked by rows of terracotta warriors, and at its heart lay a massive bronze coffin. Suspended directly above it was an imposing bronze cauldron, a three-legged round vessel.
Jiang Hao’s eyes were drawn to the cauldron, and he immediately sensed its extraordinary nature. It was adorned with intricate patterns depicting insects, fish, birds, beasts, landscapes, exotic creatures, and mythical figures, exuding an aura of weightiness, mystery, and nobility.
As Jiang Hao laid his hand upon the bronze cauldron, a flood of information surged into his mind:
The Jizhou Cauldron: One of the legendary Nine Cauldrons of Emperor Yu, a divine artifact of the state. The one who possesses all Nine Cauldrons shall command the destiny of the Nine Provinces.
He gasped in disbelief, “Could this really be the fabled Jizhou Cauldron from Emperor Yu’s Nine Cauldrons? Here, of all places?”
Jiang Hao was astounded. He had never imagined that he would encounter such a legendary relic in this place. The Nine Cauldrons of Emperor Yu—a mystery even more profound than the Imperial Seal itself!
Particularly striking was the System’s concluding remark about Emperor Yu’s Nine Cauldrons: “He who secures the Nine Cauldrons shall harness the Karmic Luck of the Nine Prefectures!”
Caught in a quandary, he wrestled with his decision.
Finally, after much deliberation, Jiang Hao made up his mind.
He gritted his teeth and muttered a string of curses.
“Damn it, no risk, no reward!”
“It’s just a dead body, after all. I’m not who I used to be!”
With that, Jiang Hao reached into the System Space and retrieved two battle poems, each imbued with the essence of Confucianism and Taoism.
He placed them on the terracotta warriors flanking the bronze coffin.
Then, with a flourish of his Talisman Arts, he conjured talismans in midair, inscribing binding runes on either side of the coffin.
Having completed the task, Jiang Hao eyed the bronze coffin and whispered to himself, “Let’s hope it’s not too formidable.”
