Chapter 137: Dinosaur Attack II - Another one

Chapter 137: Dinosaur Attack II - Another one

Gundo worked tirelessly to tend to the wounded. The air was thick with the scent of blood and fear as villagers who had narrowly escaped the dinosaur attack limped and stumbled towards her makeshift medical station.

It was at the other end of the village, and she knew if the defence line in the front was attacked, they would be in a huge problem. She kept praying to Garnt's guardian spirit hoping things wouldn't get bad for them.

In the midst of the chaos, Rona emerged from the crowd, her face etched with worry. "Gundo, have you seen Garnt? Is he okay?"

Gundo paused, wiping sweat from her brow after all the hard work she had to do treating the wounded. "I haven't seen him. Is he not with the others?"

Rona's gaze remained fixed on Gundo, a silent plea for information. Gundo's heart sank as she shook her head. "I'm sorry, Rona. I haven't seen him. I've been focused on treating the wounded. I-"

Gundo was torn between choosing her duty to treat villagers over Garnt, just like Ayra and she knew Garnt wanted her to treat the villagers because if she left right now things would only turn bad. But her heart and body were telling her to act selfish and see how Garnt is doing.

Before Rona could respond, a thunderous sound echoed through the air, freezing both women in their tracks. Their eyes widened, and a silent understanding passed between them. Something was terribly wrong in the front lines of the village.

Without a word, Rona and Gundo exchanged a glance, their expressions mirroring the fear that gripped their hearts. Without hesitation, Rona turned and sprinted towards the source of the disturbance, with Gundo close behind forgetting about her duty.

'Garnt! Garnt! My Garnt!'

She mutters the same thing inside her mind showing how scared and anxious she is.

As they rounded a corner, the once sturdy village wall came into view, now shattered and broken. Panic set in as Rona scanned the chaos, desperately searching for any sign of Garnt. "Garnt! Where are you?"

The distant roars of dinosaurs mingled with the cries of villagers as they struggled to defend their homes. Rona's hands trembled as she reached for her weapon, her mind racing with the possibilities of what could have transpired.

Gundo, panting heavily, caught up with Rona. "We need to find him. He might be out there, leading the defence. We can't lose hope."

With determination in their eyes, the two women plunged into the heart of the chaos, ready to face whatever awaited them and praying that Garnt was still out there, fighting alongside his people but what they saw was beyond depressing.

They saw Unami and Kiriah holding Garnt like he was wounded and Ayra leading the warriors to fight with the dinosaur that had already invaded the village.

"Nooo! Noo! This can't be happening. We can't lose now." Gundo muttered and ran to help Garnt.

It kept shaking its body constantly, hoping that Rona would fall and break her back, until its eyes laid on something that was approaching in their direction. For a moment, the dinosaur calmed down, as if it was seeing something that was hard for it to believe.

Rona, who was interested in what was happening, followed its visionary line to see what was going on and noticed Maro and Garo approaching the battlefield, hoping to help their humans.

"Maro and Garo! What are they doing here? I told Unami to hold them without letting them do anything unwanted." She was worried that something might happen to them, but looking at the dinosaur's reaction, Rona knew something extraordinary was about to happen.

'Don't tell me...this is Garo's mother? If that's so, aren't we the bad guys here trying to steal a child from its mother?'

She was doubtful about the situation, but she obviously knew there was no reason with wild animals like this. It was either dinosaurs die and they survive or they die and dinosaurs survive.

"Maro! Go away, you can't attack this beast with your attacks." Rona shouted and tried to land an attack on the dinosaur, but suddenly it roared back to life and started to run in Garo's direction, but neither Rona nor Garo was able to see what its intentions were.

Ayra was thrown away by the pressure of its step and she knew their only hope was Rona, who had the easiest way to reach its vulnerable spot.

Garo, who was being locked down by this giant creature, started to shout in fear, while Maro covered him like the proper mother she is. She was even ready to fight with this creature, who was twenty times her size, growling menacingly. But things didn't end there.

Suddenly, another rumbling noise started to come from the other direction of the forest, and out of nowhere, another giant dinosaur appeared, as if she was waiting for this moment.

Its scales shimmering in the dappled sunlight, a newfound tension filled the air. This newcomer, a majestic creature with vibrant patterns on its skin, moved with purpose toward the menacing giant that had Garo as its target. The ground shook with each step as the two colossal beings locked eyes, their territorial instincts flaring.

Maro, shielding Garo, watched the unfolding spectacle with a mix of awe and confusion. The giant creatures faced off, growls echoing through the forest, creating a symphony of prehistoric power. The atmosphere crackled with an intensity that seemed to freeze time itself.

The new dinosaur, with a graceful yet forceful movement, lunged at the imposing creature threatening Garo. A seismic clash ensued as the two titans collided, their colossal bodies creating shockwaves that rustled the leaves and sent tremors through the ground. It was a battle of giants, a struggle for dominance that unfolded with primal fury.

"Damn it! What is even going on anymore?" Ayra asked as she couldn't even comprehend what was going on anymore.

Rona quickly jumped off the first dinosaur's back into a nearby tree before the collision and she was able to get away with minor injuries, but unfortunately, some of the people that was beneath them got crushed by the sudden movements of the two gigantic creatures, even though Ayra tried her best to attack and protect her people.

The forest echoed with roars and the sounds of their epic confrontation. Maro seized this opportunity, grabbing Garo and swiftly retreating to a safer distance and she had an enraged look on her face showing it wasn't Maro who came here of her own will, but rather Garo who thought he could do something to help his favourite human.

Looking at Maro and her growls, Garo knew he was going to get rather harsh punishment this time, but that didn't reduce its desire to be useful to Garnt.
