Sanctuary: Safe Haven

Chapter 250 Guilds And Clans

Chapter 250 Guilds And Clans

Canna awoke with a smile, the gentle scent of flowers and grass wafting through the air. Sleeping high up in one of the giant trees within the Verdant Warden's domain always gave him a sense of peace. The world around him felt alive, full of magic, growth, and opportunity.

He stretched his arms, his white cloak with its golden edges billowing in the morning breeze, and jumped down gracefully from the tree.

As he landed, memories of the previous day filled his mind. Zephyros and Solara's pack had finally settled in the sanctuary after a lengthy conversation. Convincing Zephyros had taken some effort, but in the end, the disaster-ranked wolf had agreed to stay. It helped that Solara had vouched for Canna and the sanctuary as a safe haven for their kind. Now, the pack was adjusting to their new life.

The Amazon area where the wolves had chosen to settle was vast, more so than even Canna had initially anticipated. The territory stretched endlessly, a sprawling land of thick forests, rivers, and grasslands. What made the wolves special, however, was their sheer strength. Unlike the first direwolves that had entered the sanctuary, Solara's pack was immensely powerful.

Even the pups had reached low calamity ranks, and the adult wolves were terrifying in their elemental affinities, primarily wind and darkness. A few even had mastery over fire and other elements. The pack had found a home near Aurelis the golden lion, the true calamity being who commanded awe of Solara's pack.

Though Solara had reassured Canna that the wolves would be ready at his call, he chose to leave them alone for now. They would need time to adjust to the sanctuary and its inhabitants. But having two disaster-ranked wolves at his beck and call gave him a sense of security—knowing they were aligned with the sanctuary's goals brought a sense of unity and power.

Now, as Canna embarked on another journey, a different kind of excitement bubbled within him.

Noctis, his ever-watchful subordinate, had recently reported the existence of a large kingdom to the north, and Canna couldn't help but feel curious. The kingdom wasn't just large—it was important, bustling with guilds and clans, something Canna had only heard about in passing.

Walking through the lush forest, Canna was greeted by Noctis' calm voice in his mind. "Master, about the kingdom I mentioned... it's one of the major powers up north."

Canna, intrigued, asked, "Tell me more, Noctis. I've only been to two kingdoms before, and neither left me with good memories. What's so special about this one?"

Noctis appeared beside him, his clone materializing from the air. His sharp eyes gleamed as he began explaining, "Guilds and clans, Master. That's what makes this kingdom unique. Every major kingdom has them, and this one is no different. In fact, it's a hub for guilds."

"Guilds?" Canna echoed, tilting his head in interest.

Noctis nodded. "Yes. A guild is an organization formed around a specific craft or goal. The most well-known are the merchant guild and the adventurers guild."

Canna's interest deepened. "So, in a way, clans are like mini kingdoms within the kingdom itself?"

Noctis nodded. "Exactly. Clans rise and fall based on their reputation. If a clan becomes powerful enough, they can influence the kingdom's politics, gain sponsorships, and even affect military campaigns."

Canna grinned. "It sounds like the perfect place to explore. I've only visited two kingdoms before—Avaloria and Arenthia—and neither left me with good memories."

Noctis raised an eyebrow. "Avaloria... that was the kingdom where Kael came from, right?"

"Yes," Canna said, his voice tinged with a hint of regret. "A small, remote kingdom, crushed by the Veiled Order. Nothing remains of it now."

"And Arenthia?" Noctis asked.

Canna's expression darkened. "That's where I freed a lot of people from slavery. But the scars of that kingdom run deep."

Noctis nodded, understanding the weight of those memories. "This kingdom up north is different, Master. It's larger, more organized. There are more opportunities—both for alliances and for challenges."

Canna smiled, his excitement returning. "Then it's decided. We'll visit this kingdom and see what it has to offer."

Noctis gave a satisfied nod. "I think you'll enjoy it. With guilds and clans to explore, there will be no shortage of things to learn—and people to meet."

As Canna stepped forward, ready for the journey ahead, he couldn't help but feel a surge of anticipation. This would be his first visit to a major kingdom, and the possibilities felt endless. He had no idea what awaited him there, but he knew one thing for sure—it was going to be an adventure unlike any he had experienced before.

Experience more on empire

With a final glance at the lush forest surrounding him, Canna set off toward the north, his thoughts swirling with excitement. The world beyond the sanctuary was vast, filled with people, power, and potential—and Canna was more than ready to explore it.
