Chapter 123 Conflict Erupting and To Shit We Go

Chapter 123 Conflict Erupting and To Shit We Go

Zehal Alvix was the last person who was in need of the Universal Credits because, for her, they were rather useless due to having access to the whole family's funds. But some really exotic technologies and blueprints?

That was something that even Zehal would sometimes have trouble getting her hands on due to their rarity and their scarcity in these ends. While the House Alvix managed to get their hands on some of the different technologies from the different High-Level Civilizations and High-Level Star Nations...

It was most often rather useless because of the similarity between the technological trees of the Eternal Empire of the Asurya and that of the other High-Level Faction. What Zehal needed to progress Deus Technicus were not the ordinary technological advancements but those really advanced ones.

Those were the things that each High-Level Civilization and High-Level Star Nation usually classified as the core technology of the said faction. Arcturus was sure that the Directorate had some really cool stuff in their repository, so for Zehal, he asked for something she really needed.

"Not problem. You will have everything prepared after you complete your mission. Additional details about the mission will be sent to you through the NetSphere right now. Also... if the situation becomes unsalvageable, you are required to join the defenses of the Ziria until the citizens are checked and transported out of the planet. Only under the Code: Apocalypse, you are allowed to leave your position on your own without risking treason."

Everything that was being said was more like the standard of the missions for the Directorate, though defining the city in the case of the bug outbreak wasn't something nice, and he hoped that it wouldn't come to that.

What was worse was that they were not allowed to leave normally and would be able to do so only if the situation became the Code: Apocalypse, which meant that everything went to fuck and they could leave without facing any consequences or when the evacuation of the citizens was finished.

Still, he knew that there were certain privileges for the Core members of the Eternal Empire of the Asruya, like three of them. That, of course, remained unspoken for many reasons, but mainly because the agent from the Directorate really depended on the fact that the three of them were not aware of that by some accident.

"Then we are in agreement. When do we need to leave for the mission?"

Arcturus really hoped that they wouldn't need to leave right now because he wanted to remain in the city at least during the night. Get some sleep, though he really doubted that he would get some, considering the stressful day that was today.

Though it was not like he really needed sleeping, he guessed that it was most likely just the indulgence. He liked his beauty sleep, though his physique didn't really need it at all, or rather, he didn't need to sleep that often actually.

Only a few hours per a few days.

That said, the agent from the Directorate didn't say anything else or anything more. He just nodded his head and left their table to his own devices while leaving the trio of them to finish their dinner.

Arcturus immediately opened the information package sent by the Directorate almost at the same time that the agent from the Directorate left the lodge where they had their dinner.

There was a lot of additional information about the Ziras IV, especially about the terrain and geography, including some of the routes to the area where the Arachnid Nest was apparently located.

The information package from the Directorate also contained security codes for several of the colony facilities and clearance codes that would allow him, Jeniael, and Zehal to move unhindered across the entire city without much problem.

As of right now, their identities have been upgraded to that of the temporal Directorate Agents, which was a very rare thing, but it was sometimes done to the non-standard operatives that were working temporarily on some missions from the Directorate.

After finishing the dinner, which Zehal graciously paid for, Arcturus was rather full and went to his hotel room that was on the top of the building while leaving Zehal and Jeniael to their own devises as the two women remained in the adjusted garden to talk about something.

Arcturus didn't really care enough to ask about what they would be talking and neither was it his matter, so he just went to sleep. Meanwhile, down in the hotel's gardens, a silent storm was brewing.

Neitehr Zehal or Jenaiel spoke anything as they just continued starting at each other for several minutes straight, with each passing minute their gazed were becoming more hostile and gitated.

It was clear that neither of them wanted to be here and also that their temporal truce had ended. Judging by the tense atmosphere, it would be rather good if they didn't start fighting right now because, with their combat capabilities, they would demolish the entire hotel.

After several moments, Jenaiel appeared in front of Zehal as she hit the Heiress Apparent of the House Alvix straight to her face. It happened extremely fast, but Zehal was still able to react and create a miniature Psionic Shield around her face that stopped Jeniael's punch.

However, what she wasn't counting was the power behind Zehal's punch that was really something above the standards and the Psionic Shield was broken in a mere one contact, and Zehal was sent crashing on the ground with a sound that reminded her of a broken nose.

Though contrary to Jenaiel's expectation, Zehal was quickly back on her legs as she looked at the white-haired young woman and immediately counterattacked with a punch of her own as she caught Jeniael off-guard.

Mainly because she didn't anticipate that Zehal would lower herself and brawl with her in the hotel gardens. This continued for some time, as the two women were dead set on exchanging kicks and punches as they continued to express their disdain and outright hatred for each other.

Jenaiel was rather surprised at Zehal's close combat martial abilities because she knew that the Heiress Apparent of the House Alvix preferred to fight solely with her technology and nothing else, so Jeniael was rather unprepared for this kind of opposition.

After half an hour, both of them were relatively tired, though it was clear that Zehal was more tired than Jeniael.

While Zehal indeed had some martial training and knew how to strike and so on, she didn't have the endurance, nor did she have the experience of someone who had fought like this for several years already.

In fact, the Heiress Apparent of Alvix looked like she would back out from the fatigue every moment because this wasn't really her forte, not to mention all of Jenaiel's hits were aimed at the pressure points and were very powerful.

Zehal felt like her entire body would collapse on its own because, contrary to her, who was just throwing punches as she wanted, Jenaiel went to the strategic approach, and she chose the exact weak spots on her body.

She primarily aimed at the pressure points that she had perfectly memorized for the best possible effect. While Jenaiel was mainly a swordsman, she had also learned many kinds of martial arts that used only her own body.

Soon enough Zehal indeed blacked out, as she was already doing her best at remaining ocnsciouss, but the hits were too much on her and not even a few moments later, everything went blank.

This left Jenaiel in rather a problematic situation because she needed to bring Zehal back to her room and also provide her with some medical care. It was even more problematic because they were supposed to leave the city tomorrow morning and travel to the Arachnid-infested area.

Which was totally the best situation possible.

And now one from their team was down.

This lowered their power by approximately 33%.

It was a really bad situation, and now that she looked at and knocked out Zehal, Jenaiel indeed realized it...

Hopefully, Zehal would recover by tomorrow morning as they gave her some medicine, though what was worst, she didn't have money or anything on her for such an occasion, so the only thing that she could do was to either go and bother Arcturus about this, because this wasn't really something that she wanted.

An explanation of what has happened would be either troublesome.

Not to mention she wouldn't even know how to explain this, she wasn't very good at lying to people. It was never her forte as she was rather a straightforward person and didn't really appreciate deception and similar behavior.

Obviously, she didn't really want to use her emergency funds on someone like Zehal; she even had the idea to drag her out and just drop her in front of the hospital as she looked at her unconscious form, but going through the entire city with an unconscious person over her shoulders?

Probably the best chance to be arrested on the streets.

"His ship... he should have there some medical supplies, including some adnvacted medicines for the occasions like this. Hopefully, that AI won't rat me out."
