Chapter 210 Totally Worth It.
Chapter 210 Totally Worth It.
Hugo and Lisa sat cross legged on the floor around the coffee table, their eyes locked in an intense battle.
Between them stood a tower of small wooden bricks—delicately stacked, piece by piece, like a fragile masterpiece waiting to collapse.
The game of Jenga.
The stakes?
Head flicks. Glory. Pride. Eternal bragging rights.
Or at least, that's what Hugo told himself.
His fingers hovered over a particularly dangerous lower block, the one that—if he wasn't careful—could send the whole tower crashing down.
His heart pounded. His hands were shaky. He knew himself. He was not built for this kind of delicate precision.
Hugo's brain screamed one thought: 'I CAN'T DO THIS.'
But he had one secret weapon.@@@@
Cheating.
With the calmness of a warrior about to activate his ultimate move, Hugo quietly activated the Aura of Zen.
Instantly—
A wave of peace washed over him. His breathing slowed. His muscles relaxed. It was like he had become one with the universe.
With unnatural steadiness, he reached out, gripped the block with perfect precision—
And SWIFTLY YANKED IT OUT.
The tower wobbled dangerously.
Hugo held his breath.
Lisa held her breath.
Even the air itself held its breath.
But then—The tower stabilized.
It didn't fall. Hugo blinked. Lisa gasped.
Hugo grinned like a madman.
"HAHA!" He threw his fists in the air. "BEHOLD! The precision! The skill! The sheer GENIUS that is ME!"
Lisa scoffed. "You got lucky."
"Lucky?" Hugo laughed. "Lisa, Lisa, Lisa... you don't understand. This isn't luck. This is DESTINY."
To rub it in further, he grabbed one of their slightly burnt cream puffs from the plate and took a victorious bite.
Now, to be fair, their baking attempt had been a disaster.
Despite two supposedly intelligent people coming together, the final product was a weird hybrid of edible and questionable.
The cream was fine. The crust was mostly okay. But the edges?
Burnt just enough to remind them of their failure.
Still, food was food.
Lisa rolled her eyes and focused back on the game. It was her turn.
She leaned forward, eyes sharp, lips pressed into a determined line.
"Okay. Time to show you how it's done," she muttered.
Hugo watched as she carefully analyzed the tower. She was completely serious. Focused. Dead silent. Like she was about to make the greatest move of her life.
Hugo found this hilarious.
So, naturally, he started laughing.
Lisa glared daggers at him. "Hugo, SHUT UP."
Hugo grinned. "I'm just admiring the dedication."
"You're distracting me!"
"Me? Distract? Never," Hugo said, barely holding in his laughter.
Lisa growled and went back to her turn.
Hugo decided to up the stakes.
While she narrowed her eyes at a tricky block, Hugo casually picked up another cream puff—
This wasn't a girlfriend throwing cute little love taps. This was a full on MMA beatdown!
'WHERE WAS SHE GETTING THIS STRENGTH FROM?!'
Did she secretly train in ancient martial arts?!
At this rate, he was going to DIE before he even got to enjoy his glorious victory!
'Think, Hugo, THINK!'
He needed to stop her. Immediately.
And then it hit him.
A brilliant, evil, absolute genius idea. Without hesitation, Hugo grabbed her chin...
And sealed her lips with his. Lisa's entire body froze.
Her hands, which had been raining down destruction upon him, stopped moving.
The fire in her eyes flickered, as if her brain had suddenly crashed like a broken computer.
Hugo deepened the kiss, tilting his head slightly, letting the warmth spread between them.
Lisa, still stunned, didn't move at first.
Then—
Slowly, her body relaxed.
Her fingers, once poised for violence, curled into his shirt instead.
The anger, the playful fighting—everything melted away.
The world around them?
Gone.
All that mattered was this moment.
This warmth.
Lisa pulled back slightly, her breathing unsteady.
Her face was bright red, her lips slightly parted, her dark eyes dazed.
Hugo smirked.
"Still mad?" His voice was low, teasing, full of confidence.
Lisa bit her lip. Continue reading at My Virtual Library Empire
Her gaze flickered to his lips, then back to his eyes.
For a second, Hugo thought he had completely won.
Then—
She grabbed a pillow and SMACKED HIM IN THE FACE.
"YES, I'M STILL MAD!"
Hugo fell back, laughing so hard his stomach hurt.
Lisa crossed her arms, pouting.
But her face was still red.
Her lips?
Still smiling.
Hugo sat up, shaking his head.
Totally worth it.
But he wasn't done yet.
