Chapter 66 Should I Join You?
Hugo crept toward the bathroom door like he was sneaking into a dragon's lair, each step slow and deliberate.
His heart felt like it was about to leap out of his chest, and his palms were so sweaty he had to keep wiping them on his shorts. He could hear the shower running, the steady stream of water hitting tiles.
When he reached the door, a sweet, heavenly smell hit him like a warm hug. It was soft and floral, with just a hint of something creamy and luxurious. Hugo froze, his eyes widening as he sniffed the air.
"What... what is this?" he whispered, inhaling deeply. He shut his eyes, letting the fragrance invade his senses. "Is this... Lisa's scent? Is this what she smells like all the time?!"
His mind went into overdrive, painting vivid, ridiculous pictures of Lisa stepping out of the shower with her skin glowing, her hair dripping, and sparkles floating around her like she was in a shampoo commercial.
He clutched his chest dramatically.
"This smell should be illegal," he muttered. "How is a man supposed to think straight with this around?!"
But there was no turning back now. Hugo tightened his grip on the door handle, his determination outweighing his nerves. He slowly pushed the door open and stepped inside.
The bathroom was enormous, the kind of luxury you only saw in TV shows. White marble tiles stretched from wall to wall, and a massive mirror reflected the soft, golden light from a chandelier above.
A big bathtub sat in the corner, surrounded by fluffy white towels that looked expensive enough to be considered decorative art.
The shower itself was enclosed by frosted glass. Through the opaque panels, Hugo could make out a blurry silhouette.
It wasn't perfectly clear, but what he could see was enough to send his imagination spiralling. Long, slender legs. Curves in all the right places and a shocking curve at the rear...
The way the figure moved so gracefully under the water, as if it was some sort of sensual dance.
Hugo's knees wobbled. "Oh no," he whispered, swallowing hard. "She's too hot. I'm not ready for this."
But then, like a switch had flipped in his brain, his confidence surged. He puffed out his chest and grinned to himself.
"Alright," he muttered under his breath. "Time for phase one."
He marched over to the sink, acting like he was totally meant to be there. Then, in the loudest, most obnoxious voice possible, he began singing.
"I'M A BARBIE GIRL! IN A BARBIE WOOOOOOORLD!"
He turned on the sink faucet and splashed water dramatically, banging around like a clumsy toddler in a toy store.
"Yes!" Hugo said, jabbing the air for emphasis. "That smoke—whatever magical potion you've got added to it—it's messing with my brain! It's making me crazy. I'm not in control of my actions. I'm basically high!"
There was a long pause. Lisa just stared at him. Then, her lips twitched. She snorted. And before Hugo could process what was happening, she burst into laughter.
He blinked in confusion. "Wait... you're laughing?"
Lisa covered her mouth, trying to suppress the giggles, but her shoulders shook with each breath. "I can't believe you're blaming your idiocy on a joint. You're ridiculous."
Hugo rubbed the back of his neck, grinning sheepishly. "Well, when you put it like that..."
Lisa shook her head, still laughing softly. But she didn't tell him to leave. That was a good sign, right? If she really hated him, she'd have screamed or called for help.
Hugo felt his confidence rise again. Steeling himself, he activated the aura of alpha, letting the charm seep into the room. His posture straightened, and his voice dropped into a smooth, low tone.
"So, Lisa," he said with a sly smile, "how about I join you in there?"
The room went silent. The sound of the water dripping from the showerhead was the only thing breaking the tension.
Lisa tilted her head, her expression unreadable. Then, slowly, her lips parted as she began to speak—
