Chapter 2040 - 2241: Can't Even Eat in Peace!!!
The fourth class in the morning ended, which meant it was lunchtime. So when Li Weiwei asked Hao Jian if he wanted to have lunch together, it was a normal thing to do. However, Hao Jian was a bit puzzled that Li Weiwei would take the initiative to ask him to join her for lunch, which surprised him a little."What, unwilling?" Seeing Hao Jian's frown, Li Weiwei jokingly asked with a feigned seriousness.
Upon hearing this, Hao Jian quickly waved his hand and said, "I wouldn't dare, I wouldn't dare."
"Good, since you don't dare, then let's go together. I happen to have something to discuss with you," said Li Weiwei.
Hao Jian didn't know what Li Weiwei had to discuss with him, but if it was a small matter, they could have talked right here. So this indicated that it was something that needed to be discussed over a meal, possibly taking up the entire lunchtime.
Without knowing what this matter was exactly, Hao Jian realized that Li Weiwei's invitation to lunch was obviously not just to eat together. Since he had already agreed, he couldn't refuse anymore. He took out his phone to send a message to Liang Xiaohan, telling her to have lunch on her own as he had some business to attend to. Without waiting for a response from Liang Xiaohan, he left with Li Weiwei.
Since the lunch break was short, going out to eat wasn't an option, so Li Weiwei led Hao Jian to the cafeteria. However, it wasn't the student cafeteria, but the teacher's cafeteria. Although there were only two words of difference in the names, there was a big difference between them.
Leaving aside the differences in food supply, the atmosphere itself was different. The student cafeteria was usually noisy, but the teacher's cafeteria wasn't crowded, making it comparatively quieter. After leading Hao Jian inside, Li Weiwei motioned him to sit at a table, and then she went to get the food.
Soon, Li Weiwei returned with two platters of sumptuous food and placed them on the table. Seeing this, Hao Jian looked astonished, obviously not expecting Li Weiwei to bring such a large amount of rich food. So, she really has a good appetite!
Nevertheless, Li Weiwei quickly noticed his gaze, shot him a look, and said, "These are all for you. You've lost so much blood from your nosebleeds, you need to eat more to replenish, otherwise, if you faint from anemia again, who will catch you?"
Upon hearing this, Hao Jian was a bit surprised by Li Weiwei's thoughtfulness. He paused for a moment and then smiled, saying, "Haha... Thank you for your kindness, truly grateful."
Hearing such shameless words from Hao Jian, Li Weiwei rolled her eyes at him, sat down, and said, "Eat. Also, don't leave any food. If you waste any, you'll have to go reflect on your actions."
Hao Jian heard this and made a gesture of a mission accomplished, saying, "Okay, I'll make sure to finish everything."
With that, Hao Jian picked up his bowl and chopsticks and began eating heartily. Watching Hao Jian eat, Li Weiwei couldn't help but smile. Then she picked up her bowl and chopsticks and started eating slowly.
Halfway through the meal, Li Weiwei, noticing Hao Jian eating so fast and fearing he might choke, got up to buy him a bowl of porridge. Hao Jian felt very touched, not expecting Li Weiwei to be so attentive to details and so considerate. Instantly, his opinion of Li Weiwei was elevated to a new level.
However, while they were eating, suddenly a voice, one that was irritatingly greasy and annoying, sounded beside them.
"Hey! What a coincidence, Teacher Li, you're eating here too!" As he spoke, a male teacher in casual sportswear sat down next to Li Weiwei without asking.
Li Weiwei glanced at him with a look of disgust. There were no shortage of admirers around her, and encountering one while eating was honestly quite annoying. These people were like clingy followers and flies, always showing up wherever she went to irritate her.
"If not here, then where else would I eat?" Li Weiwei replied, needing to acknowledge this colleague, but her tone and words were not friendly and even showed her displeasure.
Hearing this, the male teacher's face showed some displeasure, but he quickly managed his expression. The unhappy look flashed only for a moment and disappeared, as if it had never been there.
However, this scene was caught by Hao Jian. This person is the PE teacher from the neighboring class, named Zhang Haiping. During class, he often leers at a pretty female student, intentionally asking her to perform difficult exercises, and then conveniently teaches her himself. Most girls are alert when attending his classes.
Regarding this, Zhang Danlin once mentioned it to him, so he quietly noted this person down. At this moment, seeing Zhang sit down here and looking at his eyes, he knew what Zhang intended to do. But he behaved as if he hadn't noticed, continuing to eat his meal.
Unexpectedly, while he was lowering his head and focusing on eating, Zhang Haiping gave him a disdainful look, seemingly thinking that Hao Jian was eating with such urgency like a starving ghost, as if someone was trying to snatch his food. Zhang was quite scornful of Hao Jian.
Then, he asked Li Weiwei: "Who is this guy? Why is he eating with you?"
Without even raising her head, Li Weiwei replied discontentedly: "Aren't you hungry? You should be here to eat, not to chat! I'm a little hungry, I want to eat. If you have nothing else to say, please leave!"
Li Weiwei's words were quite disrespectful to him. Initially, her sitting there wouldn't have made her say much, but his question sounded as if he were someone special to her, disrespecting Hao Jian, so naturally, she wouldn't show him any face either and immediately said those words.
With Li Weiwei's words, Zhang Haiping's face turned sour. He was simply asking who was the person eating with her; however, he didn't expect Li Weiwei's attitude would be like this, instantly causing his face to flush red.
Nevertheless, his thoughts were entirely different inside; despite his unpleasant expression, he quickly composed himself.
Hao Jian was initially focusing on eating and heard Zhang Haiping's questioning tone, which showed that Zhang didn't regard him. Otherwise, he wouldn't have directly asked Li Weiwei in that manner. Additionally, he noticed Zhang's disdainful look. He originally planned to ignore it, but now...
This guy kept bothering Li Weiwei; he couldn't sit still anymore and immediately looked up, giving Zhang a glance. While he was eating, the bowl of porridge Li Weiwei bought for him was still in front of him. He pretended to reach for the porridge, but in reality, his move caused the porridge to spill.
And Zhang Haiping was sitting across from him. At this moment, his hand was near the bowl of porridge on the table. Instantly, as the bowl tipped, the porridge spilled onto Zhang Haiping's hand. Moreover, as it was freshly served, it was naturally hot. In a flash, Zhang Haiping, scalded by the porridge, quickly withdrew his hand.
Despite his swift reaction, when he pulled his hand back, most of the porridge had already spilled on his hand, and simultaneously, his hand turned red from the scalding. He immediately pulled back his hand and stood up.
"Ah! I'm sorry, sorry, really sorry!" Hao Jian quickly stood up with an apologetic look.
Meanwhile, he had already grabbed a few paper towels, handing them over to Zhang Haiping. At this moment, Zhang Haiping was angry but dared not express it. Seeing Hao Jian's appearance, he knew for sure it wasn't accidental, that Hao Jian purposefully knocked the bowl over to spill the porridge on his hand.
However, seeing Hao Jian pretending it was unintentional, Zhang wanted to hit Hao Jian. But upon noticing Li Weiwei's expression, he immediately restrained his anger. Instead, he took the paper towels from Hao Jian's hand and started wiping the porridge off his hand.
Although he cleaned the porridge off, his hand had already turned somewhat red from the scalding. Li Weiwei paid no attention to him, continuing to eat her meal, while Hao Jian, after handing him the paper towels, also resumed eating. Initially, he thought the situation would make Zhang Haiping realize to leave.
However, things didn't go as he imagined. After sitting down again, Zhang Haiping gave him an angry glance but still refused to leave. Instead, he sat back down and suddenly took out a theater ticket from his pocket, handing it to Li Weiwei, saying, "Weiwei, I know you like watching the Happy Mahua play, so I specially asked a friend to get two tickets for this Saturday's show. Why don't we go together then?" Zhang Haiping said with a smile.
Initially, when he arrived, Zhang called Li Weiwei, Teacher Li, but at this point, he changed to calling her Weiwei, adopting a very intimate tone.
In reality, Li Weiwei had only interacted with him a few times, and not for personal reasons, but for work-related matters. They weren't familiar at all, yet Zhang Haiping intimately called her Weiwei, which generally only longtime friends and parents would use for her.
Immediately, Li Weiwei showed a hint of displeasure on her face, feeling even more annoyed and disgusted by Zhang Haiping.
