Chapter 29 SADISTIC GAME (1)
Chapter 29 SADISTIC GAME (1)
Deadly silence prevailed inside the dining room.
No one talked, and no one breathed as if waiting for Florence to make a decision.
Florence: "Mormon Tell me about the treasure that this kid wants.
Mormon: "Your Highness, I already checked; it is a class 7th spatial treasure, extremely rare, and could cost the same price as multiple 9th class treasures.
Florence's eyes narrowed down as he gave Alan a deep look.
Florence: "You really know how to choose. I'm extremely curious. Why do you need a spatial treasure? Are you...?"
With his hands on Alan's neck He looked at his new toy with a newfound curiosity.
Mormon: "Your Highness, we do have the treasure inside the vault."
Florence: "Kid, you're asking for a very valuable treasure, so you would have to pay something of equal value; our bet needs to be fair for all parties. That means I would not give you something impossible, but you have to provide something of equal value to the price I'm giving.
That's why I decided to make it a survival bet. You see, I have a very nice place that is called the theater. Inside, you will have to face every single beast coming at you. To make it fair, you only have to survive for 24 hours. You are allowed to use one mana-infused potion every hour, and you are given the choice of one weapon.
So tell me, kid, do you think you can stay alive for 24 hours?
Alan: "As long as I am fighting someone who is in the same stage, then fighting for 24 hours is possible. I take it that you will prepare the treasure, so let's not waste any time. My schedule is backed."
Florence: "Hahahahahahahahaha, kid, you are f****** crazy, aren't you? I can't wait to see you so messed up, crying for me to spare your life."
Alan: "You can keep on dreaming."
Florence: "Prepare the theater; we will head there immediately."
Mormon: "Yes, sir."
.......
10 minutes later, everyone was inside a huge empty room. The only thing that stands out is the glass of the viewing chamber high above the ground with a perfect view of everything inside the room.
Florence: "Everything has been prepared. I will be right up there in the viewing room, watching you get killed miserably. Try to last longer and don't ruin my enjoyment, will you?"
Florence and his bodyguards went to the viewing glass room.
Standing in the middle of the huge room alone, Alan took a deep breath as he circulated the Ena inside him, warming up his body.
Florence: "Choose your weapon from the cabin, kid."
Alan: "My hands are my weapon. I haven't had the plentiful resources to find a weapon art like your highness. What a nice environment you have been raised in."
With a sarcastic smile on his face, he talked back to Florence.
Florence: "You do know that your mouth will get you killed one day."
Alan: "Everyone and everything dies; when the moment comes, I will greet it with a smile."
From the viewing room, Florence talked to Alan, taking a deep look at this crazy kid. He had a twisted smile on his face as he said to his guards.
Florence: "What do you think, Mormon?"
Mormon: "Your Highness, this kid only displayed two arts, one movement art and another attacking one. They are the basics of the basics, yet he refined them to a terrifying degree. This is something a 16-year-old can never dream of doing. Even those from the sacred clans and the federation elites don't have such a horrifying talent."
Florence: "Indeed he is a diamond in the rough; I hope he entertains me more."
With a maniac smile on his face He agreed with the Mormon evaluation.
......
His earlier hypothesis had proven to be true. The interval for more beasts to come is 20 minutes, but if he killed every single beast, a new wave would come immediately after.
So he decided to pace himself, using every second of the 20 minutes to fight and finish every wave of beasts coming at him.
2 hours had passed, and right now he was doing his best to avoid so many attacks coming from over 150 beasts at the third stage altogether.
Like a precise machine, every single movement of his was executed to kill a single target with the least amount of energy spent.
Although the number was huge, there was no coordination, and their individual strength was much weaker than his, so those numbers did not scare Alan.
....
Right now the huge room was packed as more than 6 hours had passed with over a thousand beasts fighting a battle royal to kill Alan.
After 6 hours of fighting, his Ena was almost depleted, so he had no choice but to use two of the 24 potions given to him at the start of the challenge.
With over a thousand beasts, he did not have the confidence to kill them all in under 20 minutes.
His brain was overworking itself to find the most optimal course of action.
Evading three attacks coming right at him, he took a deep breath and instantly discarded any thinking process.
As if he had fallen into a trance, he launched himself at the thousand-plus beasts, moving like a ghost, with every place he passed by, tens of beast corpses collapsing every second.
Like an ashura, a devil incarnate He slaughtered everything in his path. Every single fist and every single move of his were meant to take a life.
With 1 minute left before the interval came again, he killed the last beast, immediately taking a potion to replenish his exhausted Ena.
...
Mormon: "Your Highness, only six hours have passed; we have prepared a thousand beasts at the third stage to come all at once in the last hour of this bet. What do you think we should do now?"
Florence was in a daze. His eyes shined with the terrifying light as he answered.
Florence: "Start using the 4th stage beast to duplicate the scenario that was used on the 3rd stage beasts, since my new toy is so durable it makes me want to break it even more."
......
Just as Alan was taking a breath, the door opened again.
But this time only one beast came in, and when Alan felt the energy fluctuations on this beast, his expression changed as he looked at the viewing room.
The maniac really wanted to kill him. He wouldn't do the same with 4th stage beasts.
