The Bigshot's Superstar Wife

Chapter 89: Into the Woods

Chapter 89: Into the Woods

The battle inside the ship raged on, the noise deafening as blasts and shouts echoed through the corridors.

The princess, her cloak billowing behind her like the wings of a dark bird, moved with unmatched precision.

Her weapon, a slender, gleaming sword, cut through the air, striking down assailants with ruthless efficiency.

Every movement was calculated, each strike delivering a swift blow, as if she were dancing with death itself.

The attackers were relentless, but they had underestimated the princess. She had spent years in secrecy, honing her skills as a warrior, preparing for a time like this.

They were armed with blasters and energy swords, but the princess was faster and more agile.

She dodged the barrage of gunfire, her feet barely touching the ground as she spun through the ship’s narrow hallways, a blur of movement and deadly intent.

One of the attackers lunged at her, his blade aimed straight for her chest.

Without hesitation, she sidestepped and, with a swift motion, drove her sword through his side, silencing him in an instant.

Another assailant aimed a blaster at her, but she raised her hand, using a quick burst of energy to deflect the shot.

The blast ricocheted off the walls, igniting sparks, but the princess had already moved on to the next threat.

Her mind was sharp, calculating the movements of the enemies and using her surroundings to her advantage.

She ducked beneath a doorframe as another blast soared over her head. Her eyes narrowed as she spotted an opening, a way to disable the enemy forces.

She took a deep breath and launched herself forward, kicking one of the guards in the chest and sending him crashing into the wall.

The corridor was filled with chaos. The lights flickered, and the ship’s alarms blared, warning of a hull breach.

But the princess was undeterred. She continued to fight, her sword flashing in the dim light, cutting down anyone who came too close.

Her energy was boundless, and her resolve was ironclad.

In the midst of the battle, the ship suddenly jolted violently, sending the princess tumbling to the floor.

She gritted her teeth and quickly recovered, but the ship’s emergency systems had already kicked in.

The princess nodded, already assessing their next move. She could feel the weight of her duty pressing on her shoulders.

She had to reach Asenus. She had to warn Mors and everyone else about the threat that was coming.

But the forest was vast, and the unknown dangers lurking within it would make the journey perilous.

"We need to find shelter," she said, her voice steady despite the chaos. "And we need to regroup. Do we have a communication device?"

The guard shook his head grimly. "The ship’s communications are down. We’re on our own."

The princess’ mind raced. She knew that without communication, they were cut off from any support.

They couldn’t risk waiting for rescue, they had to find a way to survive and escape the forest.

But the truth was, they weren’t just escaping the forest. They were escaping the shadow that had followed them.

"We’ll have to move on foot," the princess said, determination settling in her chest. "We’ll make our way to Asenus. It’s our only chance."

The guard nodded, his expression grim but resolute. "I’ll lead the way, Princess. Stay close."

They began their trek through the forest, the thick foliage making each step difficult.

The underbrush tangled around their legs, and the canopy above them blocked out most of the light.

Every sound seemed amplified, the crunch of leaves underfoot, the snap of twigs, the distant calls of animals. But all of it was drowned out by the princess’ racing thoughts.

Who had sent the assassins? Why had they attacked her now, on the eve of her journey to Asenus? And why did they seem to know exactly where she would be?

She couldn’t shake the feeling that this attack was just the beginning.

There were bigger forces at play here, forces that were working against her, against Mors, and against everything they had built.

The war was coming, and she was right in the center of it.

As they walked deeper into the forest, the princess couldn’t help but wonder how long it would take before the assassins found them.

And when they did, would she be ready to face them? Would she survive this time?
