Chapter 144 I guess it's time for some Chaos

In the blink of an eye, a sword suddenly appeared in Vaelric's right hand, and with immense speed, he appeared in front of Thalos with his sword outstretched.

But just as he appeared in front of Thalos, Serak, Darius, and Liora instantly appeared behind him with their weapons placed a few inches close to his neck.

Their eyes glowed a deep red as they all intensely stared at Vaelric, whose sword was still outstretched towards Thalos.

Serak's glowing eyes never left Vaelric for even a second as he moved his axe closer to Vaelric's neck. "You seem to have forgotten who you're pointing your sword at..."

"Stand back, Vaelric," Darius muttered. "You do not want to face the consequences."

Liora was yet to say anything, but her gaze was obviously more intense and sharper than the others.

Sylas could only watch in silence, his eyes widened. His gaze darted between Vaelric, the other Progenitors, and the King.

Vaelric's expression instantly changed as he began chuckling, his shoulders moving up and down.

Thalos just continued staring at him, with no slight hint of fear in his eyes.

Even when Vaelric rushed towards him and stretched out his sword, he didn't even falter.

"I see..." Vaelric muttered as he stopped chuckling, and instead, a small smile formed on his face.

"You all have been blinded and are unable to see past the veil," Vaelric said.

"Before Thalos became King," Vaelric continued, "the Vampires lived fearlessly. We were confident, but....."

He stared at Thalos. "Look at what we have been reduced to because of him."

"Where is our usual elegance? Even the weak humans think they've won, and that's because Thalos ordered us to no longer do anything to the humans apart from the ones in this Kingdom."

Vaelric furrowed his brows. "And I'm very sure the Phoenixes noticed that and concluded that we're nothing like we were before, and that's why they're messing with us..... That's why they're not even a tad bit scared of us anymore."

"When we were still being ruled by the former King," Vaelric added, "we had a history that even the other Realms knew of.... A kind of history, reputation, and achievements that made other Races not even dare to mess with us. But ever since Thalos became King, he changed all the laws that made us who we were, and reduced us to nothing to the point that we have now been deemed as pushovers."

Liora squinted her eyes. "Or you mean he got rid of all those rules that made us suffer...."

"Because of King Thalos," Liora added, "the Vampires are all happy..... Their families are living in peace because he stopped all the constant wars."

"I don't think you get it, Vaelric," Darius said. "King Thalos didn't make us fall short of anything..... He only made us better."

Serak grinned. "So don't try anything, if not..."

Sylas was still shocked, not because Vaelric pointed a sword at the King, but because of the way the other Progenitors defended the King in the blink of an eye.

It was so sudden that he was still wondering what the hell happened.

Vaelric smiled. "You all still don't get it, huh?"

He slowly began lowering his sword as he continued, "Just so you know, there's a high number of Vampires who aren't happy with the fact that we've left the humans with the feeling that they won the war, and that they're stronger than us."

Vaelric completely lowered his sword, and it instantly disappeared.

A grin formed on his face as he looked at Thalos straight in the eyes. "And if you're not willing to fulfill their needs..... If you're not willing to satisfy their desires....."

He turned back and began walking out of the throne room as the other Progenitors lowered their weapons, staring at him.

Vaelric stopped in front of the door before he looked at the King over his shoulder.

"Then I'll do it for you....."@@@@

With that, he left the throne room, leaving Thalos and the other Progenitors.

He watched as the Nightmare Shadow slid through the opening at the bottom of the door and left the room.

Instantly, it moved to the next door and did the same thing, entering the room.

A boy was sleeping on the bed, and just like its Lord described, the boy had short black hair.

The Nightmare Shadow swirled around the boy for some seconds, and immediately it came in contact with him, it disappeared, ready to become a nightmare.

The boy, whose name was Ken, suddenly woke up in a Dark Empty space, and just like the first girl, he began looking around in confusion.

"Where am I?"

Before he could even say anything else, the Nightmare Shadow instantly appeared in front of him, making him stumble backward.

His eyes instantly widened. Instinctively, he stretched out his hand to conjure a fireball, but surprisingly, nothing happened.

Ken began sweating as he continued shifting backward.

"Humans are stubborn creatures. Sometimes, if you don't force them, they won't do your bidding."

Its mist-like body suddenly began spreading out in the Dark Space, making Ken even more frightened.
