Ever since Xie Cheng took Lan Xi to a charity gala a week ago, Lan Xi had been acting a little strange.
For some reason over the past couple of days, she seemed to have become obsessed with crocodiles. Not only was she looking up information about different crocodile species all day long and researching them, she even went to the zoo and bought tickets to see the crocodiles three times.
After Xie Cheng got off work in the evenings, Lan Xi would excitedly grab his hand and tell him that she had finally found a crocodile breeding center in Rong City after a long search.
Mu Yi Star thought that Lan Xi developing a special liking for crocodiles was rather unexpected since there were no crocodiles on the planet, but loving animals was always a good thing.
"So what kind of crocodiles do you like?"
"The little baby crocodiles!"
Xie Cheng still remembered how definitive Lan Xi looked when he asked her, which Xie Cheng found cute and innocent.
Xie Cheng did a simple background check on the crocodile breeding facility in Rong City. It was a legitimate company with all the proper certifications and licenses. On normal days, they provided crocodile viewing and feeding activities for tourists. Lan Xi pestered him to go, and after verifying their qualifications, Xie Cheng did not stop her.
Who could tell him why Lan Xi was holding a little crocodile in her hand...
Afraid that he was dizzy from overwork recently and seeing things, Xie Cheng stared closely two more times before realizing that his princess girlfriend really was holding a live little crocodile, its tail still swinging back and forth...
Even if she liked crocodiles, there was no occasion where she could bring a crocodile...
Xie Cheng could not wait any longer. He pushed through the crowd, not caring about manners as he rushed up to Lan Xi in a panic.
Faced with Xie Cheng's questioning, however, Lan Xi looked very wronged. "Why can't I bring a crocodile? At that charity gala last time, a few of the society ladies were huddled together chattering. I heard them say something about crocodile skin bags being a noble symbol, and they each had one... "
Lan Xi cleared her throat and continued, "I am, after all, the most noble princess of Mu Yi Star. Don't I deserve to own a crocodile skin bag? If I'm going to choose one, of course it should be the best looking one! So today I hurried to the breeding center and bought a little crocodile, looked through thousands before picking the cutest one there. And so I brought it with me tonight! I want to show them that this is what true nobility looks like!"

In the end, after much cajoling from Xie Cheng, Lan Xi finally gave up on the plan to bring a live crocodile into the banquet. But instead, Xie Cheng took her shopping for five Hermès crocodile skin bags, thus beginning Lan Xi's journey into luxury goods and giving Xie Cheng more motivation to work harder...
