Chapter 47 Unexpected Suprise
Chapter 47 Unexpected Suprise
That morning, while Lance alongside Kaeli, Zarra and Mira slept peacefully in his tent after staying awake throughout the night, it was only a matter of time before someone found them. Thankfully, not just anyone had access to his tent, more like, not just anyone would come to him.
Well, amongst those who could approach his tent, the elders weren't the only ones.
Rikka alongside two other goblins tagging along, who had been sent by Rynne to give a message to Lance, seemed to be the first ones to lay eyes upon something rather... interesting.
As Rikka drew close to Lance's tent, the other two goblins remained behind a couple of steps. She was used to having to deliver these early morning messages to Lance, as she was sent quite often, especially y Rynne and Zarra who would leave or be engaged in other duties early in he morning.
She was used to Lance sleeping in late after such busy nights, so instead of waiting, Lance had actually given her permission before to enter his tent and wake him up rather than calling his name from outside the tent over and over again, as if he was really tired, he wouldn't be waking up no matter how many times she called his name.
Just as she expected, Lance hadn't woken up even after she called his name several times. This only meant that he had been that exhausted the previous night, so she moved forward and parted the covers of the tent entrance, just enough for her to enter. Once inside and she took in the details within the tent fully, Rikka's serious expression quickly turned into one of embarrassment and shame as she saw the naked bodies of her elders and chief laid bare before her eyes, especially her chief's.
Her hands moved instinctively to cover her flustered face in embarrassment, but curiosity had the better of her and she couldn't resist looking. Suddenly something inside of her stirred, a feeling she had not yet known before. She ran outside first, suppressing the urge to make any sort of noise.
Seeing her run back out like that after being inside Lance's tent for a while, the two goblins outside were rather confused, "what's the problem, your face is all flustered." One asked.
"Yeah, what happened?"
They moved closer to get a better look, but Rikka immediately put her hand out to stop them, knowing that it wouldn't be good if they were to see what was inside the tent, or so she concluded. "It's nothing. Wait here for a bit while I wake the chief." She said, going back into the tent.
The plans of relocation began in earnest. Though it was already afternoon, Zarra still led a team of scouts with Lance accompanying them to pick a good and suitable location for them to settle in. From their previous scouting, they already had several places and areas in mind, which was going to make their expedition quicker and more precise. Regardless, they packed, prepared to set camp if needed.
Their mission took until late into the evening before they completed it. After looking through several areas, Lance finally settled on one in particular. Though there was little clearing, the ground was very even for a wide stretch, enough to hold their tribe and even for future expansion.
Apart from that, they were closer to what appeared to be a travelling route that sees frequent passage, and most importantly, this area, as far as they knew, didn't have wild beasts roaming around. There was also a river nearby, and also a stream. The river was a big factor for Lance, as the one they had close to their current camp was quite far away. It was certainly going to make life easier when it came to hygiene.
As the night settled in, they made camp, forming a semi-circle. They had dried meat with them which they eat as food, avoiding making fire if unnecessary.
Lance found Zarra lying with him as they settled in for the night. She reached out, brushing a stray lock of hair from Lance's face, her touch lingering for a moment longer. Lance smiled warmly as he spoke, "Zarra," he began, but she cut him off with a sly grin.
"Relax," she said, her tone softening. "I'm not going to pounce on you... unless you want me to." She said in a suggesting tone. Her words were playful, but her eyes held something deeper.
"I would love that, but not with everyone around," Lance said, his voice steady but warm.
Zarra's smirk faded into a genuine smile, and she leaned in, her lips brushing against his. The kiss was light at first, a tentative exploration, but it quickly deepened as Lance responded, his hands moving to her waist to draw her in before he started exploring her loaf cheeks.
The world around them seemed to fade as the kiss grew more intense, Zarra's fingers tangling in his hair as she pressed closer. Lance's hands slid up her back, pulling her against him as their breaths mingled, building the heat between them.
"You know, if we keep this up, it'll be going too far with the others here. They might get jealous." Lance said.
Zarra grinned, trailing her fingers down his abdomen. "Let them."
