"What if we give her Jer? That man is in the dungeons and hasn't said a word since Hawi left. Maybe we can offer him up as a trade, and say he was the one who killed Rukiya. Surely that should get that queen off our backs, even for a moment, no?" Theo asked earnestly.

They had been trying to live through the madness of the werewolf queen but that woman was proving each day that she was a soulless demon to them.

They had never met such a cruel woman... or maybe they had, but each time they were never the targets of the furry. Oh, but Queen Kia was in her own league of villains in the books by the Savasci knights.

"She wouldn't accept him. If she would have accepted Jer, we would have given him up a long time ago, given that Queen Kia hates criminals. She wants a realm without crime, which is just impossible to manage," Hudhayfah reminded them and they sighed.

This was not fair in any way and the longer they tried to make it make sense the more they were sure that their lives had been doomed from the very start.

"What if we all go to Olyana and try to make her see sense? She would have no other option but to talk to us, right? And what does she even look like, that queen in the shadows?" Zaniel asked impatiently.

He believed all that was waiting for them. The woman had made it her mission to make their lives the worst version of whatever fate could give anyone. She had messed with them one too many times and it was disheartening in one too many ways.

Perhaps this was their chance at making her see sense, no?

"What if the queen is a grim reaper? What if she wants our souls and she can't get us because of the immortality protection spell that Hawi cast on us? Maybe that is why she hates us and our guys.

We are doing everything right and she can't control us or our power, so she makes our lives difficult, no? What do you think of that explanation?" Rio asked excitedly even though he was talking about an impossible horror.

The woman in question surely couldn't be the Grim Reaper, right? But even then, that didn't explain what she was doing to them all the time. It is like she was enjoying seeing them miserable and didn't make any sense to the Savasci knights.

Maybe their theories would be put into practice and they wouldn't have to worry about the madness anymore, right?

"We're really screwed if we think the werewolf queen is a grim reaper," Zaniel laughed sadly at the absurdity of the idea.

So much had happened to them and they hadn't once considered the things that they were to deal with and yet now, it seemed like life was pulling them into some gamble that they knew nothing of.

Maybe there was a good enough reason, but their lives had been made hard by this woman for all these years. Surely there wasn't a scenario they hadn't had at this point, right?

"To be fair, it's the only explanation that makes sense. Why would she target us like that if she wasn't holding a grudge against us? Or maybe she has a grudge against Hawi and she is using us to lure Hawi out?

"Damn that would be evil and twisted, no matter what the reason gets to be in the end," Elodie chimed in and they let out laughs despite their miserable state.

They had been trying to make sense of everything and each time, they ended up at the same point, thinking the queen was a grim reaper. Would it make their lives easier if the woman turned out to be that?

"And what if she is trying to sue us to lure Hawi into coming back, will we let her?" Malika asked out of curiosity as she looked at the unhinged warriors of the realm.

They were the best in what they did and they never had any flaws, even though they and the queen always found some to taunt them with. But then they had to be a line of through ombre for the queen, right?

She just couldn't be that harsh on them without a good reason, right?

"No way... I'd rather suffer until Hawi herself decided to come back. Imagine telling her that we failed the test of the unhinged grim reaper because we were too weak and missed her. She would be so disappointed.
