It may not have been explicitly stated, but Azmond had broken through to the Soul Transformation Realm over a month ago.

His breakthrough into the Soul Transformation Realm was not a smooth one, and he was once again met with the resistance of the mysterious force that never seemed to be able to kill him.

They even sent down five monsters at the peak of the Half-Step Mahayana Realm to kill him!

And although Azmond was unaware of how 'they' were able to send something so strong without any of the Monster Emperor's or Overseers noticing anything, he made quick work of the monsters, regardless.

After killing them, he was able to successfully form his 'Essence Soul'!

The 'Essence Soul' was something completely unique to the Soul Transformation Realm and was the key point to breaking through the major realm and, subsequently, the minor realms that followed.

The Soul Transformation Realm.

During this stage, you will need to evolve your Nascent Soul from a 'non-corporeal' state to a 'corporeal' state. This is one of the prerequisites you need to fulfill before you can break through to the Soul Transformation Realm.

Once you have reached such a point that you can take your Nascent Soul out of your body and move it around remotely, you have reached the Early Soul Transformation Realm.

To progress through the stages of the Soul Transformation Realm, you will need to condense your 'cultivation base', 'Core', 'Dantian', and 'Nascent Soul - now an intermittent 'Essence Soul''

The Nascent Soul and Essence Soul are two different things, but also one and the same. You can think of the 'Essence Soul' as another 'layer' of the 'Nascent Soul'.

It lays atop the Nascent Soul like a thin filamentalmost like an outer layer of clothingclothing that you can take outside of your body.

Here are the progression marks to advance through the Soul Transformation Realm

Early Soul Transformation Realm - (Basic[0], Heavenly[2], Divine[5], Quantum[12]) parameter cycles - 'Infant Development Phase'

Middle Soul Transformation Realm - (Basic[0], Heavenly[2], Divine[5], Quantum[12]) parameter cycles - 'Child Development Phase'

Late Soul Transformation Realm - (Basic[0], Heavenly[2], Divine[5], Quantum[12]) parameter cycles - 'Teenage Development Phase'

Peak Soul Transformation Realm - (Basic[0], Heavenly[2], Divine[5], Quantum[12]) parameter cycles - 'Adult Development Phase'

Half-Step Void Refining Realm - (Basic[0], Heavenly[2], Divine[5], Quantum[12]) parameter cycles - 'Absolute Adult Development Phase'

The (Compression cycles, ect) have been turned into (parameter cycles) due to generalization.

The 'Development Phases' relate to the development of the 2nd 'layer' that sits atop the Nascent Soul, otherwise known as the 'Essence Soul'. These development phases also relate to the development of the 'Nascent Soul' as well.

It's a very intricate and convoluted subject

His Essence Soul in the Early Soul Transformation Realm, just like his Nascent Soul in the Early Nascent Soul Realm, had started out looking like infants, precisely as the development phase suggested.

But now, after breaking through to the Middle Soul Transformation Realm, that elusive 'infant version' of his Essence Soul has evolved into a child-like form.

Furthermore, Azmond's Essence Soul was better able to sit over the 'top' of his Nascent Soul with a child form, as opposed to the infant form it was previously.

Now one of the boons to being in the Soul Transformation Realmbesides the strengthwas the fact that one could start to take their 'Essence Soul' outside of their body and have it act sort of like a clone of oneself.
