The king couldn't believe what he was hearing, since he didn't even know why someone would do that, well not at the moment at least and he looked at Nessa then she tilted her head a little to the right.
The king approached Nessa and she looked at him as did the demon, for the king seemed a bit lost at the moment and Nessa sighed, then grabbed onto the king's arm and he looked at her as she placed him to sit down on a chair.
The king held onto his head and began thinking about what had been happening lately and about some of the things that he had heard from beyond their borders and his brows furrowed then he gritted his teeth and looked at Nessa.
"Got a whiff of something?" The demon asked and the king chuckled.
"Yeah, you can say that, I heard a few rumors a little while back, each circling around even the council but I didn't realize how big this may actually be because no one told me anything, you say the council knows of them, right?" The king asked.
"Yeah, they definitely know about it, don't let anyone else tell you otherwise, you are a king, follow your instincts, lies can carry things pretty far, you have to be able to pick them out, the council is a different set, you know what I mean, don't you?" He asked and Nessa glanced at him and how freely he was talking to the king.
"Yeah, I know what you mean, some of them within that little organization are just a bunch of bastards in the first place, no one messes with me and gets away with it, it has not happened before and I am not about to let it happen now," He responded with a piercing look in his eyes and Nessa smiled at him.
"I get it, but, you have to be careful from now on, we are looking into a few things, maybe some will come to light when you reveal who you are choosing to replace you," She said and the king looked at her then her eyes narrowed.
"You are thinking fast, it may be, they can gain quite a lot," The demon responded and the king chuckled.
"That's just the worst situation, seriously I just hope everything goes well, I am going to start taking some extra measures," He said.
"That's a good choice," Nessa replied and the demon nodded.
"What would another leader do as well, in a position like this, one which we are placed in many times apparently?" He mumbled and Nessa heard him.
"Don't let them destroy what's yours, what you care for and dedicated your life to, even if it means you killing all of them, don't let them hurt the innocent people here, it's what most leaders that are true would do right?" She asked and the king looked at her then smiled.
"Yeah, you are right, even if they hated taking a life, you are right," He responded and she clenched her right fist a little. Continue reading on empire
"I am going to start with my work, there are a lot of things that need to be done, I will see you two later, when I have to make the announcement, you two be careful how you tread as well," He responded and they nodded then he left and the demon glanced at her as her eyes narrowed.
"We need to get this over with before something happens, make sure you do your part with the one you said you would, I will get going as well, I have to get back as well," She said and he nodded.
"Don't worry, I will do my part well, I will see you later, also the girl is waiting for you, you can go with her and do what you need to, we have half a day yet to waste," He replied then left and she scoffed then left as well, to go meet Mikala, which would also help her keep an eye on someone else as well.
