Ascension of the Monster Queen

Chapter 380 Way to put it

Chapter 380 Way to put it

The king took Nessa and the demon to the garden, which was right in the castle yard and had a great view of the hills as well as the stream and the air there was fresh and cool.

Nessa smiled as the fresh air brushed against her cheeks and the king smiled as he saw how relaxed she looked at the moment and the demon glanced at her.

The girl's hair blew up in front of her face and before she could remove it, the demon got closer to her and the king glanced at him, as did Nessa.

He moved her hair from before her face, placing it behind her ear and her brows furrowed as she looked at him and the king smiled a little.

"There," He said as he moved away from her and she turned away from him then smiled.

"Thank you," She replied and he looked at her.

"You are welcome," He said and the king chuckled then exhaled deeply and Nessa glanced at him, noticing that he looked calm but at the same time disturbed.

"What is it that you wanted to talk about?" The demon asked and the king turned around to look at them and his eyes narrowed.

"What more information did Kurson give you guys?" He asked and the demon glanced at Nessa, feeling as though, the king had suspected something else was going on as well. Discover hidden content at empire

"Not much, why are you asking that?" She asked and he looked at her then sighed.

Nessa smiled when she heard that, knowing that the more she practiced and the more she fought, the stronger she got but she also knew, she was not invincible nor did she know the full limit to her abilities, if there were any.

The demon sensed the change of energy around them and his eyes narrowed as he looked around him then he scoffed with a slight smile and looked at her.

"What are you talking about Nessa?" The king asked as he looked at her.

"You were right, that was sort of planned, the attack earlier, they are not beasts from here, they were simply planted to cause a bit of ruckus, it's not really a big deal to them, nor a part of their big plan," She responded and he sighed.

"Not a big deal? The ones that did that think that? What if that creature had gotten into the city and we were not here or our men, they would have destroyed everything," He said as he punched the piece of the wall beside him, breaking, cracking it and the demon glanced at him.

"Your reaction is understandable, but the enemy that we are facing is one that doesn't care about how many lives are taken as long as they get what they want, I have seen it with my own eyes before and so has Kurson," She replied and he looked at her then exhaled deeply, calming himself down.

"You seem to know a lot about this, something I as a leader have no idea about, how are you mixed up in this and you are so young? Is it just because you work with Kurson?" He asked and she smiled at him.

"Yeah, that's one way to put it, I am involved in all of this because of the things that they are doing, they have done terrible things and I don't want them to do the same to what I care about, I am here to help and one of the other reasons I came here, is to find out more," She responded.

"I see and I understand as well, I have many questions in my mind now, but to find out more?" He asked.

"Yeah, after all, this is one of their targets," She responded and the king's eyes widened as he stared at her.
