Chapter 166 Combat lesson part 2
Chapter 166 Combat lesson part 2
The male student was left with no choice but to fight against Uriel. He tried to put on a brave face, but lost as easily as the ones that came before him. One by one the students fell in a single swoop followed by a lesson that summarized the mistakes they made.
Needless to say, the fact that Uriel kept defeating them only served to increase the resentment they felt towards him and it also helped them to feel closer to each other. A sense of camaraderie was born out of spite for Uriel and the previously disjointed group became a team that rooted for Uriel's defeat.
Uriel wasn't trying to show off his might or brag about his experience in the field. He only did what he deemed necessary to get a passing grade, but the rest of the students didn't see things that way.
There were roughly forty students that chose Nika as her tutor and among them, very few had experience in hunting. Uriel had already defeated half of them when he started to grow tired of it.
"Do I really need to fight against them all?" Uriel said amidst panting.
"They chose their opponent, it's not my fault they found you so charming." Nika shrugged. "You, the nosy one, you're next."
A slim student with a nose too big for his face which, curiously, was completely unrelated to his trait took a step forward with a grin.
"It's been a long time, Urinal."
"Benny?" Uriel asked.
"It's Kenny! How stupid can you be? I was in your same anthropology class during the first semester and you don't even remember me."
"I think I remember you... aren't you the one who posted mean things about me online?"
"Who knows?" Kenny said as he performed a sloppy high kick that Uriel managed to block in the last second but, somehow he still felt an intense pain and a high pitch sound on his ear.
Disoriented, Uriel took a couple steps back and Kenny followed him with another clumsy move that Uriel blocked again and just like before, he felt an intense pain only this time it was on his chest. From the viewers perspective, it was as though Uriel kept blocking the silly attempts that could barely be called attacks and none of them realized that he was actually getting hurt.
"Take this!" He shouted as he pretended to launch a powerful fist, though the true blow came actually from his trait that allowed him to control the surrounding air to a certain extent. The powerful gust of wind hit Uriel right in the face despite blocking the fist with both arms crossed.
That was it, Kenny gave it his all. Although his trait wasn't nearly as powerful as the ones who could control fire, a hit like that would be enough to defeat most monster rank cryptids. Uriel's face was shook back and he should have been knocked unconscious like any other ascended, but that didn't come to happen.
"Now it's my turn." Uriel said with a wicked smile.
Kenny couldn't believe his opponent could remain standing after using all of his power in a single blow. His crooked smile faded as soon as he realized that, not only was Uriel standing, he was completely unscathed. Experience new stories on My Virtual Library Empire
"He used his trait! He lost!" Kenny shouted.
"I didn't see anything." Nika said as she eyed her fingernails disinterestedly.
"He did! His trait is regeneration, I saw it!"
"What are you talking about? You haven't landed a single punch. If his trait is truly regeneration, why would he need to activate it if he wasn't even hit?"
Kenny's brows twitched as he now stood in front of an enraged opponent that was clearly far superior than him. The only advantage he had over Uriel proved to be completely useless and now it was his turn to get beaten up.
"I surrender!" Kenny innocently lifted his arms in the air.
Uriel sighed and mustered a gentle smile.
"Don't worry Kenny, I'm not mad." Uriel said making his opponent sigh in relief and right after that he proceeded to land a blow so powerful he broke Kenny's nose. The students reacted heavily to Uriel's brutality, some even wanted to jump on top of him to make things even, but they stopped and fell silent the moment someone spoke loudly from behind.
"That was a nice one! Mind if I join?" Sam, the Lightbringer, asked.
