Chapter 167 You give friendship a bad name Part 1

Sam and Medusa walked in holding each other's hands and Uriel didn't think much of it considering that he too came holding hands with Luna. What he did find strange was Sam's eagerness to participate on a fight.

While Uriel would have been thrilled to meet up with his friends on almost any circumstance, this wasn't the case as he was already tired from all the fighting. Facing against Sam, even in top condition, would be a challenge but now that he was tired he knew he was screwed.

"Actually..." Uriel tried to refuse, but Nika clapped her hands in excitement.

"Wonderful! I've never seen you fight!"

Sam let go of Medusa's hand and stepped forward causing a stir in the public.

"Isn't that the Lightbringer?" One of the students Uriel already defeated asked, to which Emma replied.

"Yes, I've seen him before but he looks..."

"So handsome!" One of the girls heaved holding her hands together close to her chest.

"Who cares about a dude, look at the hot chick he came with!" One of the boys pointed out towards Medusa. She was wearing a denim pants and a cute T shirt making her look much more feminine than usual, something that surprised both Nika and Uriel.

"Nah, she's too tall for my taste." Another male student said, yet all it took for him to shut up was a quick glare from Medusa's crimson eyes proving she could be scary even without activating her trait.

"Are you sure you want to do this?" Uriel asked his friend.

"What? Don't tell me you're scared." Sam laughed dismissively. Discover more content at My Virtual Library Empire

Both ascended hunters stood in front of each other quietly pondering on how to start the match. Eventually, it was Uriel who made the first move as he took a step forward and threw one of his deceptive punches, followed by another to the stomach but Sam easily dodged both of them.

'How is this fair? His trait is always active." Uriel wanted to complain, but then he remembered that Water warlock's blessing also gave him a passive regeneration so he decided to remain silent and keep pressing his attack.

"It's good that you asked. I saw all of your combats and that helped me notice what kind of style suits you better. Let's take Lightbringer as an example, he would make a great Ranger."

"A ranger!? But I thought this was just the combat class."

"It is, but I'm also your tutor and I'm the one tasked with finding which position will suit you better. There's Rangers who fight at a distance and scout the enemy, Engineers who make traps, devices and take care of repairs, Medics who make sure no one dies and Combatants who are the ones who get their hands dirty the most.

Now, you need to find the teacher I recommended on your sheets and get on your knees to beg them to take them as students."

"But I don't want this Charlie dude to be my teacher, I want a hot one." Sam argued.

"That's why I'm your tutor," She winked at him. "but I won't be able to teach you how to fight as a ranger. Remember, I'm your tutor, but that doesn't mean you'll become a combatant."

"Uh, Nika, why does my sheet have four names on it?" Uriel asked.

"I'm Professor Nika for you and, to answer your question, that's because you suck the most." She gave him a mocking grin.

"Then, why doesn't my sheet of paper have any names on it?" Kenny asked.

"It's obviously because you almost defeated that cheater. You're so strong, you don't need any extra tutoring." The student Nika referred to as a musclehead said.

"Do you even need to ask?" Nika glared at Kenny. Even if she played dumb, she noticed how he activated his trait from the first time and the only reason she allowed it was to teach Uriel a lesson. The true reason why she didn't write any names for Kenny was because she wasn't willing to vow for him.

"Miss Nika, I would like to have a word with you." Medusa politely addressed the newly appointed teacher. "I already have a specialization on mind and would prefer to avoid any fighting if that's possible.

"Certainly, Miss Medusa." Nika agreed on the spot since she was aware of the special circumstances that derived from her family background.

Once Nika finished handing everyone their results and recommendations for teachers and instructors she asked the students to leave the classroom, though Uriel's former party members remained inside as they had a long talk ahead of them.
