“Get out of my way!”

Fann Jian’s roar thundered through the room as he leaped to his feet, vaulting over Jiang’s father, intent on striking Jiang Hao.

Jiang’s mother gasped in horror, rushing to her husband’s aid.

“Dad!”

Jiang Hao’s voice boomed as he saw his father toppled to the ground.

“You’re asking for it!”

With those words, Jiang Hao lunged forward in a swift motion, kicking the newly risen Fann Jian back down with a merciless stomp.

Fann Jian’s cry echoed, akin to a pig’s squeal in its final moments.

Jiang Hao spun around, his gaze landing on his father, now being supported by Jiang’s mother and Xia Qin, his voice laced with urgency.

“Dad, are you okay?”

Jiang’s father responded with a shake of his head.

“You little brute, release me! I’m the general manager of the Heavenly-Mansion Tavern. You dare strike me? Just wait, I’ll make sure you pay with your life!”

Hearing this, Jiang Hao pressed down harder with his foot.

“Ah!”

A second agonizing scream filled the air.

Jiang Hao glanced at Xia Qin with a hint of surprise.

Jiang’s father and mother were visibly thrilled.

Outside, Xia Qin’s declaration caught Fann Jian off guard, and a flicker of panic crossed his eyes.

Xia Qin’s poise unnerved Fann Jian, sending a wave of anxiety through him.

As he was about to retort, a cell phone rang out.

Everyone instinctively checked their own phones before their gazes settled on Fann Jian, who was still outside.

Holding his phone, Fann Jian’s legs shook and his eyes widened in shock. His gaze involuntarily drifted to Xia Qin, who remained composed.

Seeing his reaction, Xia Qin couldn’t help but smile.

“Go on, answer it! That must be your Eldest Miss calling, General Manager Fann. Better pick up before she loses her temper!”
